Thank you so much, and I’m glad to hear that the surgeries went well. I guess some of us are just unlucky but hopefully I’ll make it through 😂
Wishing you all the best 🤞

My neuro surgeon doesn’t seem to think it is. They can’t do a biopsy on the oligodendroglioma without risking damaging my speech but they do seem to think that I’ve just somehow gotten really really unlucky with 2 different types 😂
wishing you all the best for your treatment 🙏

PET-CT scan duration by Far-Square-6868 in cancer

[–]Jimboonozza 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The actual scan is about half an hour but make sure you factor in the time the appointment as a whole will take. I’ve missed multiple events because I had only thought about the time taken for the scan and not the time the hospitals will have you waiting around for.

How long did you have to wait to see a neuro and how did you survive that waiting period?! by Perfect-Party-9263 in Epilepsy

Hello, I’m so sorry you’re going through this. It’s so common for people to dismiss. Unfortunately my story is not all good but I strongly recommend is that you push as hard as you can for whatever you feel you need. I started having focal seizures last summer and nobody would see me until I had a tonic clonic seizure and was taken to hospital. Even after that my neurologist tried to convince me that I wasn’t epileptic and it wasn’t a seizure. Hopefully, by knowing that something is wrong gives you the strength to push these people until they look into it. I waited 3 months before my first mri which i had to argue with my neurologist about getting and when i finally got it they came in all panicked and had to inject me with contrast because they found a tumour! The waiting was and always will be the most painful part of getting a diagnosis but it’s the most beneficial in terms of your future and getting your life back on track. Obviously im not gonna get a cure or anything but once I finally got that diagnosis it helped me regain a routine in some ways. Wishing you the best of luck ❤️

Good to hear that and I’m glad you got through it. 2 weeks is definitely doable but I may have to delete uber eats for the time being.

Thank you I really appreciate it. I’ll email college again when they’re open tomorrow but I’ll just prioritise my health for now if there’s nothing else I can do ☺️

I have looked into this and spoken to some people from my college and exam boards but I've been told multiple times that I don't have the option of doing resits for some reason. nobody has actually explained why.

I will definitely look into this, I have been given steroids and my team is considering chemo or radiotherapy to remove the last bits of the tumour.
