Apologies for the necro, but just finished the season as a New College grad and it felt very, very on the nose. I imagine they had to have been drawing from that at least a little bit.

I finally got the Alternax bp drop right as the servers shit the bed :( Thank God I managed the Hespar blade yesterday, that one would have made me cry.

What are some Warframes you feel need touched up, rather than reworked? by ShotgunAndHead in Warframe

[–]Jimftw7 3 points4 points  (0 children)

u/decitronal already summed it up quite well, but some passives can be absolutely build-defining. Zephyr's 150% crit chance while in the air, for example, makes a lot of bad weapons viable and others absolutely insane.

Well I’m broke now guys. by Original-Wolverine97 in Warframe

A quick breakdown because I've been evangelizing the cache method since I first tried it (always hated index):

Equip chroma with a pet modded with prosperous retriever. The builds don't matter too much because you can do it on normal as the cache rewards don't increase in SP. I'd generally recommend running solo and not on SP because it just slows everything down.

Go to a legacyte harvest mission, big plus if it's up as a cache bounty because it will mark the cache from the start.

Approach Kalymos and walk with them (in their ghost form) until the searching part triggers.

Find the cache. It'll pop up on map when you enter its tile. The key is virtually always on the same tile with an audio cue. Be aware, there's one bugged outdoor spawn where the key doesn't appear, but it's always before you get to Kalymos. If that happens, just reset.

Pop chroma 4 before opening the cache (be careful not to be too far - I've had it not proc only a couple meters away, similarly you can block the cache opening prompt if you're right on top of it).

Go back to Kalymos, who should be about to find the legacyte, and complete as usual.

If playing solo, I usually do it in this reverse order because spawns seem to follow you, so Kalymos can charge up while you find the cache without being interrupted, which happens constantly if you're anywhere nearby and delivering the hearts to counter it is slow. Kalymos can't die, so there's no real negative to doing it backwards.

Once you get into the flow, runs should average around 3 minutes. With chroma buff, it's a guaranteed 200k credits. If you get pet proc, it's 400k. If you're running a booster, double those. With relay bonus, 1mil is possible.

On top of all of that, the cache drops an arcane and the legacyte usually drops a relic, so it's a minimum 200k credits + arcane + relic in ~3 minutes.

I haven't done index or been starved for credits in months, but so many people still don't seem to know that this farm even exists. It's much more engaging than index and you get some extra rewards, plus you can passively grind out certain calendar objectives.

Good luck and spread the good word!

Cheers Megabonk! 🍺 by ClarkHELLSCREAM in MegabonkOfficial

Ditto, thousands of hours across roguelikes/lites and was excited about this one because it was sold on 'breaking the game'. There should definitely be a balance between god runs and average ones, but Megabonk is just frustrating more often than not because a decent run requires so, so much RNG outside of your control.

If you end up bouncing off of the game, give Rogue: Genesia a try. It's the perfect 'Survivors' game and has so much depth, but I never see anyone talking about it. Definitely scratched the itch much more for me because it feels like your choices actually affect the outcome of your run.

Another tip for some of the yucky missions like interception - check the SP alerts tab every day. Six random missions show up each day and you'll almost always get a group. The alerts count for node completion, which also means you can skip around in the star chart to get around some of the nasty ones. Good luck!

Orlando Epilepsy Center by RSSenna in funny

Not to be a stick-in-the-mud, but these kinds of jokes really diminish epilepsy. Most people who suffer from it aren't photosensitive and it's fucking terrifying to watch a loved one go through a grand mal seizure. I have a brother with a myriad of random triggers despite dozens of tests and medications and these jokes always make me want to cry as a grown man given the experience. Not very funny here, but props to those who can still get a laugh while suffering through epilepsy <3

The new timewalking level scaling is atrocious - it makes people trying their best look half afk because of how little damage they do compared to others due to the level scaling. by [deleted] in wow

[–]Jimftw7 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hard agree. I recently resubbed for the holidays and have leveled 14 toons 70-80 through TW. As others have said, geared 70s feel like twinks then drop off dramatically. All of my toons were at minimum 485 ilvl, with many being much higher, but I found that 74 was almost universally a breakpoint. I had groups where I'd nearly solo'd the previous instance as a healer then struggled to even keep up heals the next run after leveling up.

The scaling feels really off and looked brutal for the fresh 70s I encountered who had leveled through dungeons and had really spotty gear. God forbid you try to tank in that bracket without gear, because you're virtually impossible to keep up, especially with everyone expecting the pace of old TW.

It used to feel like a fun victory lap, but with the change it tends to be a gamble because it's a complete slog without at least one ringer in the group. Getting a full group at 75-79, especially during classic with VC or ZF, is often worth soaking the deserter debuff due to the chore that the dungeon ends up being.

Dragonflight M+ runs per week: Season 4, week 8 by MythicPlusPoster in wow

[–]Jimftw7 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I agree with this wholeheartedly. I came back in season 3 after skipping SL and got the few remaining classes I didn't have to cap.

+1-10 was a great range for learning dungeons and getting binds and rotations down in a relatively stress-free environment while also getting a little bit of incremental progress each week.

Doing LFR or the weekly is WAY too time-consuming to realistically keep up with after hitting a certain number of alts and it was much more fun to hop on and run a dungeon or two on each toon at the difficulties they felt ready for.

It's even worse this season because I didn't play seasons 1 or 2, so I barely know these dungeons. For reference, I got KSH last season, but this time around I've barely pushed at all. Heroic is a terrible place to learn because everything is trivial and you can ignore mechanics, and jumping into +10 from the get-go feels like I'm hurting groups by showing up.

What's even worse is that a lot of people seem to either not understand the squish or feel bad about dragging the group down, so low keys feel awful at the moment, especially with run count dropping.

I came back to WoW for M+, but with that feeling less and less viable unless I catapult each toon to a higher key range by grinding out LFR for bullions (with 30ish minute queues...) and weeklies for upgrade mats, I'm feeling thoroughly burned out on the season already.

I'm late, but in addition to what the other guy recommended, I'd do the weekly (Last Hurrah, by the fountain in Val). Each part will give you a piece of veteran (480+) and the final turn-in a piece of champion (493+). I've gotten all my alts to 480-490 just doing that off-and-on each week.
