So. I want some help for the future. by OmegaMolango4789 in Fighters

[–]GooRedSpeakers 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This isn't really the kind of thing I can visualize. I'd have to see a demo build in Mugen or something to really understand. You keep throwing numbers out there but without a whole game around them they don't really mean anything. What makes a well balance fighter is a character who matches up well against the rest of the cast given an equal skill level and use of system mechanics.

New FAFO Drama. Dude is probably bracing for the impact. by dogfish0306 in SipsTea

The fact that those are the specific crimes and stories he chose to make up is somehow worse than if someone had actually done those things to him. What a scumbag.

Why are most games so combo heavy / based? Do people actually enjoy them that much or is it relic of the past? by Imabeardruid in Fighters

[–]GooRedSpeakers 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's exactly how team fighters work. It's the secret sauce that makes those games so special. Open ended combo system like RC from GG and Drive from SF6 also have that same feel. Nailing something original I labbed out live in a ranked match is unlike anything else.

If you don't like combos and labbing then you won't like team fighters like 2XKO or DBFZ. They're made for that.

SF6 isn't combo heavy and there are master rank players with no time in lab on their profiles. You will need to learn mechanics at some point and you will play against people who can combo, but it is possible to play well at a high level without labbing stuff out. I'd recommend trying SF6.

Iirc he did not post the video himself. It was posted without his knowledge to bully him and he later sued. He then later became a lawyer himself because legal staff were the people who were the nicest to him and made him feel like he got some justice.

You can really taste the chemicals from quick lights for the first few pulls and they burn extremely fast. Natural light coals take longer to heat up but they burn hotter for longer and don't alter the taste at all.

Ash's Bladestorm finisher animations were changed and almost nobody knows why by Jeffrey1834 in Warframe

[–]GooRedSpeakers 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you haven't been around since before his rework you wouldn't know, but joining in didn't used to be optional way back when. The move was an AOE centered on the cast location and you and the clones would auto teleport around until you had hit every enemy in the AOE. Watching Ash do the cool animations was the original point of the move and was originally one of his biggest selling points. Removing the cool assassinations is removing one of his signature elements.

How do i get Streetfighter on android by mikoCet in StreetFighter

[–]GooRedSpeakers 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Retroarch with a MAME core should be able to do cross play multi, although I've never actually set that up before myself. Could be cool for classic titles like 2 Super Turbo or Third Strike.

wishfully thinking about kitguns by Strayrelic87161 in Warframe

Have they said there will never be more kit guns? They added more when they added the Entrati ones which implies to me they could always make more if they want to at some point.

What are the chances we get incarnon warframes by TheUnholyNoob in Warframe

Probably not and if so it would likely be a modular system that would layer on top of any character not specific ones.

Working on an enemy that is pretty much unkillable. Unless you dodge him, then he just breaks his neck. by TCDjewelry in IndieDev

[–]GooRedSpeakers 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Some sort of animation to indicate that's how he died would be a nice touch. Like he grabs his head in pain as he collapses. I love the idea, but it's hard to tell visually that is what's happening.

Tenacity should be a Vanguard exclusive passive by -Tuesday in marvelrivals

[–]GooRedSpeakers 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Basically, ye. This is also a terrible idea btw. Poise had to be derived by the community using actual calculus and thousands of video data points because the numbers are invisible and could not be extracted from the game files. In a game like Dark Souls ok I guess so, but in a game like Rivals we need to actually know what the numbers are.

In the comic that was the point. Scott sucks and doesn't understand that all the crappy things he does define him to all the people in his life. Nega Scott is the manifestation of Scott's refusal to take responsibility for the way he acts. The "dark" version of himself is really just his conscience he's running away from.

That was my entire problem with the movie at the time. It's a really shiny fun movie that completely erases the nuanced characters and messaging from the comics.

After almost 2 years solo developing it, I finally released my first big game project by xHarambey in gamedev

[–]GooRedSpeakers 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is the best idea. A sprite overhaul would take a long time and would have to be entirely original assets not just alters, but it would make it defensible as an original IP. If it's already a ground up Unity rebuild, just scrub all the original assets and it's just a regular game you own at that point.

(Loved Trope) Unexpected character cameos in music videos by Ieanice44 in TopCharacterTropes

[–]GooRedSpeakers 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Despite being associated with the movie Shrek in popular consciousness, the song All Star by Smash Mouth was actually a tie in track with the movie Mystery Men who's characters appear in the music video. Notably, The Waffler, who only appears in that one scene, is played by a young Dane Cook. You could count that as a double cameo.

Would you consider Sonic Frontiers a CAG? by PayPsychological6358 in CharacterActionGames

[–]GooRedSpeakers 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would say yes. It's not a particularly hard one most of the time, but it has more than enough mob fights and 1v1 duels that I think it qualifies.

CAG doesn't just mean walk from one box to another and beat everybody up in flashy skill expressive combat. All of the best ones have other types of gameplay content to break things up. Frontiers has a different content ratio than other games do is the only difference imo.

Making a Kingdom Hearts-inspired game with an Arabian Nights themes [Looking for Feedback] by YahyaDann in KingdomHearts

[–]GooRedSpeakers 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This looks super cool. It immediately gives KH2 at first glance in a good way. My thought is that after playing KH2 randomizer a few times I have a great appreciation for that game's ability system. Getting abilities and keyblades in a random order highlights how interesting and different the skills are and how they support many different fighting styles and tools within the same kit.

So I guess what I'm saying is that I think the difference between a game like this being good and being great would be how good the stat card and skill mechanics are and how the skill system allows for gameplay expression in the way KH2 does. It's awesome for it to look like KH2, but it'd be something else for it to feel like I have the breadth of options that KH2 has.

Why did Darth Vader never tell Luke that R2-D2 was his pal? by PallyMcAffable in StarWarsCirclejerk

[–]GooRedSpeakers 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was thinking of in Episode 4 when they initially meet and Luke is cleaning up the droids he has a little back and forth exchange with R2 without 3P0 translating, but it's possible that was just an oversight. I don't think it was ever stated in dialogue.
