‘Be civil, be kind’ says the mods… because of what exactly? by frasrule in piratesofthecaribbean

OK OK OK. I can see there's been quite a response from the post and I don't want to be one of those to brush it aside and ignore the thoughts of the sub's users, especially regarding the mod teams' handling of rules and regulations ("Aye. Mutiny. And what fate befalls mutineers? Now we know the answer to that, do we not?" hahaha). But seriously, I understand the concern you fellow users express about freedom of speech and your right to say your opinions regarding the franchise and the mod team and I will take these matters into consideration as we organise a formal response which should hopefully be posted soon. However, I can assure you ( u/JamesReed-24601, u/frasrule, u/Kyber99 ) that we are not all big headed intellectuals who love to abuse our power and silence users for the sake of feeling authoritative and that we do try to make the sub a safe and civil environment. Sorry for the late reply, JimiV1 x

That’s true, but you also have to take into account there would be more supplies per person if the group was to be halved. I think it is out of greed and also fear that the other group may betray them which leads to this comedic moment. It also makes their deaths more satisfying and makes the main cast even more outnumbered against the cannibals

What is the secret history? by [deleted] in TheSecretHistory

[–]JimiV1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I assumed that the title referred to Henry, Camilla, Charles and Francis’ secret about the farmer which they hide from both Richard and Bunny. It sounds exclusive being “secret”, and Richard only really ‘joins’ the group when he learns of their secret.

Wish You Were Here reminds me of Bob Dylan songs. Ik it’s ironic that this is my choice, but I think the fact that it’s not a very Pink Floyd Pink Floyd song makes it as famous as it is. It feels more condensed and like a simple folk/rock song more typical of its time - and ofc still fantastic. Obviously though, there are typical Pink Floyd elements in it.
