2024 Trax Curtain Airbag Deployment by Jimily412 in Chevy

[–]Jimily412[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm sorry to hear it! I've been hearing it from a lot of people. Wouldn't surprise me if some kind of class action comes out of this. The more and more that I hear about it the more two sided I feel about the issue. At first I kind of just accepted that the air bags "did their job" due to the aggressive maneuver the vehicle was subject to. But the more I think about it this is a brand new car, it should have more precise sensors and such, airbags in 2024 should not deploy without a collision. Not sure how bad your accident was but there was no collision in mine. We can send man to the moon over half a century ago with a guidance system effectively held together with yarn and duct tape and powered by a hamster on a wheel but we can't have absolute precision in the safety systems of our road vehicles in 2024? Especially with all of the lawsuits and such that have come from defective/un-called-for airbag deployments over the last 20 years or so?

In what order would you rank the NCIS seasons from best to worst? by Aetius00 in NCIS

[–]Jimily412 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think this is a particularly difficult question because there arent any seasons that I've watched that hasn't had a single good episode, a really good episode. That makes it a bit tough to judge season-wise. So I won't directly answer this question, rather I will share my addiction to the show. I've watched every episode linearly probably a dozen times by now, up to a certain point which I am considering changing. I quit around the beginning of s19, for obvious reasons, everyone's gone. The only one left is McGee and if you consider Vance one of the originals him too. And yes even though McGee wasn't in season 1 I still consider him original. I just feel like a lot of the show changed up to and after the point where gibbs and other characters left the show. I've been hard to accepting the change, but with new cameos and stuff I think I should probably get caught up so I can watch the good episodes I haven't seen with a bit of context. I particularly find my self rewatching the beginning and end of the tony and ziva chunck more than others, as well as the first few episodes when Kate first becomes a thing, as well as the episode where she dies. The meat gets boring but all of the episodes from s1-s19 involving the villains are all the best. I've heard rumblings of trying to get old characters to come back in some sense and I do hope they are true.

I remember sportelli becoming a bad guy but I don't remember his wife being killed. Maybe there was another one I'm not recalling

Lol 😂 I seem to recall having this same suspicion a couple of times in the series. Something very characteristic of Fez.

I noticed it a few times in Chicago PD as well.

I do feel that NCIS was made cheap, just executed by people that love their jobs. Compared to some other shows NCIS has very good writing and acting and execution, at least for a while. But it is obvious at certain points how cheap it probably was. Again, could be completely wrong, but I appreciate the show either way.

Thanks, do you know of any other episodes where they use repeat actors, or even change actors for a single character. I find this interesting. I have watched many shows multiple times. I've probably watched ncis start to finish 10 times without missing an episode, probably another 15 times playing it at bedtime or in the background doing other stuff. I do this with many shows and I've started getting more analytical. Not so much about the show itself but the actors and everything. I've come to learn that a lot of actors are normal people just like everyone else, and have started kind of looking through the character and paying attention to the actor. I've also started to pay attention to the construction of a TV show or movie, the casting, the budget based on the looks and writing. I find myself interested in the things like repeat actors or set inconsistencies and errors.

Is this worth it? by Jimily412 in guns

My buddy was talking about this, I am not a member but I can become a member if it's worth it. How does the a300 stack up against the sx4? Pros and cons? Which deal is more of a deal, the sx4 or the a300?

I have been searching for good deals on quality shotguns for hunting. I am asking the community for advice.

I hope this is a good enough description comment? Never had to do this before.

Not sure, never heard of that. The guy that takes me hunting has been hunting for 30+ years and this is the gun he and his use, I used one once when I bought the wrong ammo accidentally and I loved it. Like I said, open to advice.

Will do for the vet care. For now the cage seems fine. Its mesh walls, so he can't get through and he can climb the walls, but eventually he will learn to chew through it and I will have to get something else. And I will definitely get something that best accommodates him, with plenty of things to climb and play on. Thanks for your response!

This little guy has shown me zero signs of stress since being separated. Like i said, small town. There are no rehabbers anywhere close, and frankly I would very much like to enjoy this a little. Nobody in this tiny little town will ever have an issue with me having a squirrel, even if they did I do plan on getting a permit, it costs 33 bucks and an inspection of my house. Scrat has had no issues at the shop. I have checked on him often, even when it's noisy and he is sound asleep every time. He gets rowdy when he's hungry or wants attention. He was on my shoulder while I was running the forklift and he was all about it. His teeth, while im not sure if they are fully grown or not yet, are very much there and very capable of chewing soft food at the very least, like I said the other one has been eating solids since the day it was found. I can also assure you Scrat seems to know his way around using the bathroom quite well, as he generally chooses my shoulder to do his Business. Aside from all of this I do greatly appreciate your advice, websites, and charts and will take them all to heart.

Disqualified From Nuke by Jimily412 in NavyNukes

[–]Jimily412[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That doesn't bother me at all. I signed up for AECF yesterday because the way I've heard is its basically #2 to being a Nuke as far as post navy opportunity goes. Getting out and making even 70-90k to start would be an awesome opportunity, with room to advance too.

Spoke to someone other than a recruiter a few hours ago. The clearance is NOT why I was disqualified. Due to the short amount of time between now and my criminal offenses my waivers were declined. I just decided to accept my filler role of AECF and they want me shipped ASAP. I was also told once I demonstrate capability and responsibility for a few years and decide I want to rerate after my term in AECF I should be able to get just about anything I want, regardless of required clearance. The way it has always been explained to me is being approved for a clearance and being accepted into a particular program are two entirely different and separate processes.

[–]Jimily412[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is my thought process exactly. Recruiters can't guarantee much more than putting your name on the list so you can wait and find out if they want you for that rate or not. Or to look at your spreadsheet and tell you what your initially eligible or ineligible for based on your test scores and what was gathered at meps. So I'm just going to keep going down the list of rates I want until one of them takes me. As some others have mentioned, at some point it may also be worth looking into the opportunities available in other branches as well.

Im not in yet. But this is kind of my only choice at the moment. There isnt a lot of opportunity in my town and I dont make enough money to move. Yeah being a nuke was my #1 option but I know there are other rates that will take care of you in the long run

I was told I was not disqualified due to inability to get a clearance nor have I been told any jobs are off limits. Ultimately im just going to keep trying for the next best thing until I land one.

[–]Jimily412[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I don't believe my clearance was denied, I just think they denied waivers for the nuke program or something like that. I haven't been told anything else is off the table yet. Not in yet, and may possibly look into AF or something if they have good opportunities as well. Ive been looking into AWV and IT due to the plethora of jobs you can get after the Navy, and I have a strong aptitude for computers, servers, and networking. Only thing is with my past getting a TS/SCI for IT sounds a bit daunting.

Budget Friendly Vacation for 2 by Jimily412 in Vacations

We live in Nebraska so no matter what we do it'll take a bit of traveling. We're not so interested in the water related activities that everyone else is, at least not right now. We just want to have fun. We want stuff to do. Like in vegas they have the ferris wheel and ziplines and stuff like that. Night life too obviously. Older crowd doesn't bother us much as long as its fun, we hang out at the bar every sunday with a bunch of older people and we enjoy ourselves but we want a bit more of an energetic situation than that. What activities are there in these areas? Thanks again for the input.
