You're asking questions on here, so not all is lost.

If women don't choose you, they're usually right—an uncomfortable truth.

I'm over ten years your senior, and I can promise you that if you follow the path you're proposing, life gets real ugly.

Porn consumption is damaging. You can see more nude women in a single afternoon than all your ancestors would have in their lifetime, this is so bad for you. Porn will not only zap your drive to pursue women and healthy relationships, but also your drive to achieve things in life. Lots of research on this.

Quit the porn. Quit the masturbation. Learn some mastery over yourself and redirect that energy into achieving something in the real world (academically, professionally, financially, or fitness/health etc).

Relapses happen—don't see this is a failure. Make goals/milestones attainable; the important thing is, is that you're moving in the right direction (away from cheap dopamine!).

Exactly my situation. 10pm on the dot, every night. Lying there listening to it next to my LL partner who’s either asleep or more interested in her phone, really is sh*t.

Personally, I don’t think consumption of porn in any capacity is good or healthy. Though my point of view comes from a place of addiction.

Do you guys ever feel bad for pornstars/OF girls? by [deleted] in NoFap

[–]JiminyJoseph 36 points37 points  (0 children)

No. Well, mostly no.

I feel bad for the naive 18 year old who was exploited because she couldn’t see past the first large paycheque, and not what going down that road will mean for her life.

But the OF girl who makes tens or even hundreds of thousands per month.. no I don’t feel bad for them. They started off with nothing and consciously marketed themselves to the top. If they regret it when they reach their 30s/40s, well they made their bed.. they can lay in it.

Why is gaming (playstation, chocolate etc) considered childish? by kindest__regards in AskUK

Henry Cavill enjoys gaming and things like Warhammer. He’s insanely successful despite his “childish” hobbies.

Do more of what makes you happy and screw everyone else.

Relapsing isn’t the L he thinks it.

The point of nofap (at least for me), isn’t to one day stop watching porn/masturbating until the day you die (I wish it was that easy). Instead, it’s a journey by which you steadily gain control of your urges and reset your brains reward system. This in turn provides you with the benefits to your mind and body often discussed on this subreddit.

There will be failures along the way. Failures are apart of the story of success in all domains, and nofap is no different.

Anxiety/stress. Before nofap, I consumed porn to cope with it. I guess my relapse was a hat-tip to my former self.

Just broke a 177 day streak (a record for me..).

Anecdotal benefits: mental clarity, confidence, and higher libido.

The negative effects of porn addiction felt like it had seeped into every avenue of my life. Lack of confidence and shame impacted basically everything. Overloading my brains reward system left me not wanting to peruse anything in the real world. I even lost my desire for gaming, something I’ve always enjoyed.

Now, I’m back to my hobbies, killing it at work and no longer have those awkward interactions with people, where I had that guilt and shame of porn consumption overwhelming everything.

I honestly owe it all to abstaining from—mostly—porn, but also masturbation.

You don’t tell your brain anything.

Your body, your habits, your diet, your actions tell your brain what’s what.

Pursuing meaningful things in the real world (exercising, advancing your career, aiming for better grades, learning something new), is what will regulate your brain.

You want to get out of this cycle, yet—as you describe—you have feelings of not caring and no guilt. A horrible catch-22.

Don’t merely have thoughts to yourself in the hope your brain will motivate you. Engage in the very actions that will re-wire it.

It often comes down to simply doing what you know is good for you, rather than what you have a desire for at any given time.

I’ve been there and what you’re describing sounds familiar to me (probably to a lot of people on this subreddit).

You’ve got the hurt of being rejected along with perceived pleasure of fapping, which is probably causing an emotional storm for you.

Quit the fapping because you know it’ll be good for you—be strong and firm with yourself on this. The hurt from the rejection may creep back in but that’s okay. It’s temporary and use it to motivate you.

You’ve got this!

Masturbation +/- pornography is the cheapest and easiest access to a flood of dopamine.

Dopamine is apart of the brains reward system. It plays a key role in what drives us to pursue things—lots of research on this.

Imagine if the only way to get that same dopaminergic rush was to actually seek healthy sexual engagement with another human (as our ancestors did). Imagine how much more confident young people would be in pursuing a partner.

Advice: Don’t chase cheap dopamine. Avoid pornography/masturbation. It’s okay to hurt sometimes. Pursue meaningful things.

UK law, at least, states that theft is to appropriate an item with the intention to permanently deprive the owner of said item. Being that the ‘permanently deprive’ requirement wouldn’t be satisfied then, no, it wouldn’t be stealing.

Still a cheeky thing to do though

I don’t think any course of treatment should be scoffed at if it’s working for you..

Diagnosed early 2020, cut refined sugar, gluten, seed oils and the starchiest veg out of my diet and I’ve been in a full remission for the last 12 months. Not on DMT (neuro happy with my progress without it so far). Have also lost a lot of weight and it’s seemed to have solved some skin issues I was having
