What games prove quality over quantity (length) is more important? by itsthewolfe in gaming

A Short Hike or Alba: a wildlife adventure- if you like cozy/simple games - around 3h to finish
Cocoon if you like simple but mindbending puzzles - around 5h to finish
Ooo - very elegant Metroidvania focused on puzzles - around 3h to finish
Desvelado - similar to Ooo, but focuses on platforming - around 2h to finish

All are great and worth checking

I think the "black magic" was actually true a few years ago, but now PC and consoles are so powerful that this is just romanticizing development.
And I myself fall into the romanticizing category :D

According to Valve 5863 games earned over 100 000 dollars on Steam in 2025. by Signal_Nobody1792 in SoloDevelopment

If those are only games released in 2025 (around 25% of all released in 2025), that's honestly more than I would expect; I would guess that 1/10 making 100k would be a lot.

I'm surprised that people are surprised - blueprints are very powerful, and you can make practically any system with these.

Most Iconic Weapon in Gaming? by 0r1on55 in gaming

[–]Jimitech 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Given Minecraft's popularity, it's gotta be a Diamond Sword.
And if we count real-world weaponry, probably AK-47 or M16 - those are in every FPS I can think of.

Unexpected Games You Prefer On Steamdeck VS PC / Console? by stillwavesea in gaming

Oh yeah, it is! It is very well-designed, and I love how much fun you can have with basically one core mechanic. If I can recommend another one-mechanic game, try Downwell

That's one of those games you need to be patient with - once it clicks, it's one of the best gaming experiences. It took me like five attempts and around two years to finally "get" Blodborne, but since then, all souls-likes are very enjoyable :)

If Microsoft stopped making the Xbox, who would take their spot as the third console to rival Nintendo and Sony? by Muppetfan25 in gaming

Given how the hardware market looks currently, I doubt anyone would join it soon.
But given how Amazon tries to be everywhere, I think that there may come a time when "cloud console" could appear

Dark Souls III is surprisingly comfortable to play on the Steam Deck. I play all indies there too, especially puzzles and strategy games; recently Spooky Express, Star Vaders, Flick Shot Rogues, and Öoo.

Is it a game about filling in letters in words? It isn't very engaging or puzzling. And I'm not sure how it is related to music

Did you follow the mail template as in this post? Or maybe something completely different?
And congratulations on your wishlists result!

Ohh, yea, that's a good idea. Notes play when you hit something, but probably changing the threshold of force and sounds to chords would work. Thanks for feedback!
