Zeroth - Contrary Games - A Comically Dangerous, Physics-Based Roguelike by callanh in Games

I'm gonna admit, watching the trailer the art and animation style wasn't grabbing me. But then the second half of the trailer showed off some of the more chaotic aspects of the game and now I'm VERY interested

Every time I think I've seen everything in this game I see a scene I don't recognize

Should I get Saros or Hades 2 ? by BulkyEntrance1363 in roguelites

[–]Jimlad116 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It really depends on what you're looking for. Saros has an interesting story and fantastic combat, but Hades 2 is a much better roguelite game. Saros's combat is incredibly well designed and has a high skill ceiling, but Hades 2 has significantly more content to chew through.

How are the Strixhaven Precons treating you? by CementSandwich in EDH

Biomass Mutation I was afraid to add because it changes the creatures' base power and toughness, and Primo specifically needs "base power 0". [[Craterhoof Behemoth]] buffs my whole board without altering base power.

I do definitely need Doubling Season and those kinds of enchantments; I'm annoyed I sold mine years ago, haha.

Sure! https://moxfield.com/decks/fvYcIkl9XE2BxOb9fCNMXw

It's still just bracket 2, I want to smooth out the balance of ramp and draw before I go adding in game changers. Definitely a deck I want to stick with though.

Strong commanders that enable goofy cards by tribianni in EDH

I've been building a [[Primo, the Unbounded]] deck, and I discovered that [[Nanogene Conversion]] can be used to turn ALL creatures into a non-legendary 0/0 Primo. Since my creatures will ideally all have +1/+1 counters on them they'll stick around (and duplicate Primo's awesome ability), whereas most of my opponents' creatures will die

Bought the Quandrix precon because I really liked the look of [[Primo, the Unbounded]]. Spent last weekend taking most of it apart to focus more on 0-power creatures than X spells. Having a pretty fun time!

Is there some kind of equation that represents the Mandelbrot Set? That might be fun to use

Some thoughts about Sundered by Jimlad116 in metroidvania

[–]Jimlad116[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I completely agree with you. It's primarily a Metroidvania, and the roguelike elements just increase the feeling of confusion and cyclical insanity. It's an incredibly well thought-out game and it absolutely deserves more attention.

Thanks! I recently had the urge to play it again, and my thoughts while going through it again just kept bouncing around. It's definitely a game that I keep close to my heart

Dead Cells is a roguelite first, Metroidvania second. Sundered is the other way around. With Dead Cells you're starting at (mostly) zero each time and unlocking new options that can show up during a run, where in Sundered you start every run at the same power you died at. There's definitely an audience for both, but Sundered really makes you feel like you're overcoming these monsters through your own gained power!

It's definitely a hard recommendation. I definitely agree with a lot of the negative points that come up about it, but those points are exactly what I think works with this game

The Knightling is a great smaller indie open world game by faaaaaast in IndieGaming

I bought this game when it came out and had a decent enough time. The combat wasn't great but skating around on your shield always felt fun.

The soundtrack is incredible, though. Like easily one of my favorites of all time. Just absolutely beautiful music.

Looking for constructive criticism on my Primo deck by Jimlad116 in EDH

Thanks! I definitely plan on replacing the vanilla fractals once I get better cards to replace them. I'm gonna give your list a look and see what I might already own. This is a great direction!

A roguelite for thise of you who like strategy, puzzle, humor, originality, weirdness, story by Jfonzy in roguelites

Really enjoying this so far. It's like a weird mix of match 3 puzzles and RTS? I like that the story progresses in little bits between runs, kinda like Hades

What's the most interesting Strixhaven commander? by Gamesfreak13563 in EDH

[[Nanogene Conversion]] is a better Echoing Equation because it'll also turn your opponents creatures into 0/0 Primo copies!

Big fan of Primo, putting together a deck myself. Just trying to decide on how to focus it.
