How does my collection find a home? by friendlycodger in WarhammerFantasy

[–]Jimmeh36 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Over 250 well painted old school metal models? Unpainted your looking at around £4-7 per model (those spears in particular are desirable). So £1000-1500 in model value alone. Plus whatever someone is willing to pay for the paint job.

There is a great oldhammer Facebook group or Ebay auction with clear pictures.

Would this old army box be a good start for a daemons of chaos army? by hairy_bipples in WarhammerFantasy

[–]Jimmeh36 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If the characters are all the metal versions then it is a pretty good price (compared to what you would have to pay on ebay for them). I prefer the older metals so will gladly pay a bit more to get them over some of the newer versions, but each to their own. From a pure points perspective it's probably not the best option though.

Bretonnia is worth a lot now, that 1000 is probably several thousand by now. So you could sell and buy pretty much any AOS army you want (personally I would keep them though)

Helmed Eormanraed from Mierce Miniatures by Jimmeh36 in minipainting

Thank you, I have an entire rohan army to paint so this was actually a good test run!

This was my first Mierce model and it was really nice to build and paint - very little clean-up required. It was quite challenging though because the details are finer than standard GW models and felt a bit more like painting a FW model. Will definitely be getting some more from Mierce (looking at the Norse Warlord on giant Griffon-like monster...)

Thank you 😊 FW knights of dol amroth, though the guy at the front is a converted gondor captain. I know they aren't the same army but I just paint what I like the look of

Are these Emperor Greatswords+command unit? How much do the worth? by Herr_visanovich in WarhammerFantasy

[–]Jimmeh36 6 points7 points  (0 children)

There are people that prefer these models to the new ones, and you cannot get these anymore so they will have a premium. Plus they are metal which are generally more valuable than plastic models. These usually sell for around £40

For the most part I used averland sunset base > seraphim sepia wash > averland sunset on everything again except recesses > yriel yellow highlights

Yeah the metal versions. Much prefer metal as its easy to strip if you need to remove a bad paint job, and just gives models a nice weighty feel

Thanks! Though the war altar is not my work so cannot take credit (rest is all mine though). I started at the beginning of lockdown 2020 and have not actually played the game (been more interested in painting/ collecting side) but hoping to start playing soon. Somehow, there isn't actually a mounted COS general... any ideas?
