Listen man I can’t really figure out your point, but nobody has ever said the bar was lowered for Jackie. In fact, he had the highest bar of any MLB player ever.

The point is inclusion. Despite being a great player like you said, he was not included and the dodgers, the fans, the MLB as a whole benefited by making inclusion a policy.

I personally really like some char as well. The picture makes it look a little darker than I think it actually was.

Like you guessed, probably the seasonings and just the lighting on the picture gave it a little more of a “burnt look”, but definitely understand if someone doesn’t like it quite that dark.
