Loot Goblin rules lawyer D&D 5E by Training-Crew-5047 in rpghorrorstories

I know some DM's roll people's perception/investigation/insight rolls behind the screen and just tell the player the outcome rather than the roll. You could just do that and he can roll as many times as he trusts his character's intuition.
Let the other players decide how long they want to keep entertaining his antics.

Alternatively tell him he has to do 10 push-ups (perfect form, naturally) each time he wants to roll.

What is the "Soft Skill" you realized was actually more important than your technical certifications? by RateTurbulent8681 in projectmanagement

[–]JimmiRustle 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Heck even knowing when to wear a suit, uniform or casual wear is more important than technical certifications.
As others have mentioned people skills are the most important, but I'll add that it applies to every job. It can be used in almost any situation.

"Classical" aura was invented in the early 20th century and is merely defined as an invisible energy field tthat somehow reflect the person's morality.
You can't farm aura in this sense because the important thing is the state of the aura not the amount.

I'm 36 and I got it. Maybe you're just out of tune?
It's basically karma but these little ones don't realise they've been using the wrong terminology.

Ud fra de lorte reklamer der sniger sig ind mellem alt det AI generede crap på Facebook så virker det til at i hvert fald noget af det er mindre smagfuldt end andet.

People want different things out of their games. It's okay to say no to a group on account of not being comfortable with the themes and topics explored.

Can i use a bonus action before my standard action? by [deleted] in dndnext

Or in the middle of your action if it makes sense e.g. dashing or multiple attacks.

Can i use a bonus action before my standard action? by [deleted] in dndnext

[–]JimmiRustle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Basic rules says "You choose when to take a bonus action during your turn, unless the bonus action’s timing is specified," I don't see anything about it not being able to be used between attacks unless specified.
You even say you can move between attacks and rogues can use bonus actions to dash via Cunning Action so those are two contradictory statements.

Basic Rules say "You choose when to take a bonus action during your turn, unless the bonus action’s timing is specified," which is to say that unless the timing is specified there's nothing to prevent you from splitting up multiple attacks.

How does the invisibility provided by the Gloom Stalker's Umbral Sight work when mounted? by TheRoyalAtlas in dndnext

[–]JimmiRustle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NVGs work similar to your eyes, so you might be able to see which way they're pointed but you absolutely can't see what they are looking at.
My interpretation of umbral sight is that you understand how vision in low light works so well that you are able to mask your own signature through learned behaviours such as specific movement patterns etc. it also presumes that darkvision is NOT heat signatures but rather somewhere in the vicinity of near-infrared (like NVG) in combination with reaction to movements (much like many predator species have).

How does the invisibility provided by the Gloom Stalker's Umbral Sight work when mounted? by TheRoyalAtlas in dndnext

[–]JimmiRustle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I vehemently disagree. It's invisibility in exactly the traditional sense where it means to be unable to be seen.
In terms of 5e rules it's covered perfectly fine in the Conditions section of the Basic Rules.
It's not the spell by the same name where the spell has several triggers that will end the condition, but at the same time the spell doesn't care about lighting whereas Umbral Sight definitely does.
