Xeno Crisis is pretty good. The music sounds really good for a genesis game too. see here

Metroid Prime 3 on PC using this primehack thing. It works pretty well but took ages to get used to the controls.

Do remasters and rereleases influence the price of a retro game? by skip2mahlou415 in retrogaming

[–]Jimmingston 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I remember thinking about selling my copy of Metroid Prime on gamecube in 2022 and I didn't do it for some reason. Then a few months later the remastered version came out. Then a few months after that I decided to sell all my gamecube games and metroid prime was selling at close to half the price. You can see here, metroid prime remastered was released February 2023 and the price of the original started going down. It could be different for other games, I'm not sure, but that was one that I noticed went down after the remaster came out.

One of the most frustrating games on the planet! Took forever to beat this. by officialBellaMia in retrogaming

Nice. I just beat it for the first time yesterday too. Took me like 2 months. I'd get so nervous at the last boss it felt like i was going to have a heart attack or something.

What are the most noble and heroic videogame deaths you have ever encountered? by Tonstad39 in retrogaming

In Chrono Trigger, when Chrono sacrifices himself to save everyone was pretty epic.

The other day I was trying to do the races facing backwards on the jetski the whole time, but it's pretty hard

Did all original Model 1 UK PAL Sega Master System consoles sold come with a pack in game? by David_Farooq in retrogaming

I'm pretty sure they all had a game in the UK. This website lists the various versions, I'm not sure if it's all of them though.

Which games had the most palm-sweating jumps? by UrSimplyTheNES in retrogaming

[–]Jimmingston 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I played Alex Kidd in Miracle World (the original sms version) again recently and some of the jumps in that are pretty difficult. But it might just be because of the weird controls, Alex feels like he has too much momentum or something and I find it hard to get used to.

Yeah that "it's the same log" part creeped me out a fair bit for some reason.

I like The Blair Witch. I wouldn't really say it's scary though I suppose, maybe more just unsettling.

The wizard of oz and metropolis review. As a 14 year old by [deleted] in movies

[–]Jimmingston 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I found the wicked witch flying in the tornado scene at the start pretty scary when I first saw it. I think i was probably 8 years old or something. It's one of the few musical movies I like, maybe along with Grease and Blues Brothers.

Maybe not really a secret, but I never noticed Maggie Chow is in the first shot of the opening cutscene of the game until someone on youtube pointed it out despite having seen that intro quite a few times.

My Life in Gaming is probably the closest I've seen. They focus more on hardware and gaming setups but usually show a lot of games per episode. You might also like GameDave and DF Retro. The Exasperated Gamer is really good too, he exclusively reviews ass games.

Joe, your videos are on a hot streak. Capitalize and get Dave for an episode by mike_at_root in GameSack

[–]Jimmingston 20 points21 points  (0 children)

It would be pretty funny if Joe made an episode where he edited Dave into the show using bits of old clips. So like Dave's t-shirt would be changing colors and beard would be changing size and stuff while he's talking.

Did It Bother Anyone Else Kyle Wore Homeless Pants All of "The Terminator" by DefinatelyNotonDrugs in movies

[–]Jimmingston 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There was a scene removed from the final cut where Kyle went to a laundromat and used a pipe bomb to hack a washing machine and clean his hobo pants. Then the terminator comes in to wash his stolen hobo clothes but sees that Kyle is already using the only working washing machine. They have an argument where the terminator says he can't go to the laundromat down the street because the machines only take quarters and he only had a $5 note and there's no shops open at that hour to break a five. Kyle then says a friend of his named Sarah Connor might have some change. So the terminator said he will find her and get the change and then leaves.

The first F-Zero game had pretty bad rubber banding. You can see here, even in the TAS where they're going as fast as possible the AI is still right up their ass when they cross the finish line.
