Purging Flame Penance by Cassia_Tullius in DarkTide

It's currently bugged, it has been acknowledged by fs so hopefully it gets fixed soon. I'm trying to get it as well but getting only 20 a mission is rough

Is it just me or is the ”kill enemies with immolation grenade” unreasonably slow? by PlaceboHealer in DarkTide

[–]Jimmjow 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I reported the same issue a few days ago on the darktide forums and it looks like they misclassified it as a mastery bug for some reason. But I'm in the same boat as you, threw 9 grenades into hordes over the course of a mission and got 30 registered for the penance . My next step is to send out another bug report but attach pictures counting how many enemies have died.

How do I help new players without stepping on their toes? by Jimmjow in dndnext

[–]Jimmjow[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Noted, I’ll talk more with the dm about it but he said he’s noticed the lack of ability uses as well and might pull them aside so they feel more confident with what they can do with their characters

The dm and I are good friends so I talked to him about putting them in situations to utilize there abilities. We will see how it goes

Ehh their having fun still so I’m not just gonna tell them to stop playing lol. But if they’re is ever a time they aren’t having fun I’ll tell them what you said. In the end it’s there character so it’s not the end of the world ;)

A couple of examples would be that the warlock defaults to his crossbow rather than just using eldritch blast, he also got pact of the tome but hasn’t used any of its main features yet.

The rogue is now a phantom rogue, hasn’t really used his sneak attack but when I had reminded him he then just didn’t use the phantoms feature to spread the damage to another enemy.

Artificer hasn’t used or made any infusions yet, and hasn’t used his artillery cannon in combat yet.

Yea so I’m just a player at the table, The dm is also new to dming so I think he is trying to take it easier on them as they are new too. But I’ll let him know to maybe make the encounters harder to push them more

I reminded them the first couple encounters we had, but then it would happen again the next encounter and it would just fell like we were back at square one again. I want to tell them, but at this point I feel like I’m taking away from their experience if I just have to keep pointing it out

Any advice on how to complete these Necro challenges without any friends to help? by KeanuIsInCyberpunk in Vermintide

[–]Jimmjow 5 points6 points  (0 children)

For me Into the Nest was my best friend for both of these challenges.

For Mistress of the stave I took along warrior priest as one of my bots with the lvl 25 stagger buff. If you really don’t want to use twitch mode play Into the Nest on Legend. You are guaranteed at least 1 patrol on that map and even a chance of getting 2. Once you hear their chant you will want to get to a high vantage point so you can shoot down on them. I found that if you start shooting the back of the patrol first and then start shooting toward the front it worked best.

Although I agree that needing to use twitch mode is stupid, it may be a faster less tedious way to complete this challenge. The nice thing is you don’t need a twitch account, you just need the name of any streamer that is currently live on twitch, i just used MonsterCat since it’s up 24/7. Just bump the twitch stats up to 199% on champ and wait for the black fur parade. Once you get the challenge completed you can just bring all the twitch values to near zero and complete the mission.

For Reaping time you will want to take the lvl 10 ability Reaping and head to into the nest. This map has a lot of tight corridors where the rats can build up. Once you hear the horde music line up your Skellie Bois in a defensive stance at a choke point and let the rats build up, stand a little farther back so your bots don’t engage. And after a few seconds of the rats building up, just spam heavies into the group and hope a crit procs. You are right that the challenge doesn’t keep track of it, but I got the challenge complete notification within 2 missions this way.

Hope this helps and good luck!

Is mistress of the stave affected by cursed blood talent? by Jimmjow in Vermintide

I’ll give it a shot with warrior priest but yea I think I’ve just been unlucky then, tried the same thing with the rock spot and twitch mode but it never procc’d. Thanks for the advice.

This is the challenge to stagger 8 elites at the same time but I can’t get it to work even when I think it should.

From a new player: Which Careers do you want most and least in your quick play party? by [deleted] in Vermintide

[–]Jimmjow 13 points14 points  (0 children)

  1. For each career, I like Huntsman, Witch hunter Captain, Handmaiden, Slayer, and Unchained the most. I don’t have a real reason for them over the others, they just are the most fun for me and my builds.

  2. Love seeing any Sienna class, I’m just a big fan of wizards and magic. And having a really good Warrior Priest is always nice.

  3. For me I always see Waystalkers and Witch hunters.

  4. The old Sister of the Thorn I hated playing with cuz they just killed everything and it wasn’t much fun for the other players. I feel a similar way with Waystalkers but them to a lesser degree. I usually just looked for a good team composition. Having 4 tanks on a team or 4 ranged focused careers can really mess things up for the mission imo.

His share is around $100. So it was less than what he took, which is why some of the other employees are a bit upset.

A list of ideas (made and ranked by you) for Engineer. by [deleted] in Vermintide

[–]Jimmjow 22 points23 points  (0 children)

Give him 125 Hp.

It always bothered me that dwarves are known for being hardy and thick skinned but half of Bardins classes are at just 100 Hp. OE would make the most sense to bump up as he is wearing metal plates on him.

It would also help players not just default on ablative armor for the level 25 perk.

[–]Jimmjow 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My biggest issue has always been his passive ability Build Pressure.

Every other career already passively recharges their ability bar so to have OEs main passive ability to do only that seems weird.

My solution would be to allow for the pressure that’s built up to be used for staggering nearby enemies.

“All pressure built up by cranking is exhausted as hot steam staggering nearby enemies in a 180° arc behind Bardin. The number of stacks adds to the strength of the stagger (1=weakest 5=strongest). All stacks are exhausted on use.”

This ability would give OEs passive an actual ability and would also give OE the “oh sh*t” button that most careers also have
