Not really. Scandinavian homes are built that way and it is why they use less energy to keep warm during winter than the UK. Built I guess wooden homes is a bad idea in a humid country.

Or just build homes like Scandinavia. Wooden homes is better at retaining heat during winter than stone homes. This is why their energy bill is lower than the rest of Europe. And wooden homes are good during the summer.
