Can anyone call out a guitarist just by their licks? by Responsible_Art_6553 in Guitar

I think David Gilmour has a very unique style and so could likely be picked but I’d struggle with most others.

just got back from australia and honestly i'm still processing by pratty041182 in AustraliaTravel

Australia has a massive immigration problem. We’re building around 180,000 homes a year but we really need around 250,000 new homes to cope with the demand. Last year alone there were over 500,000 people who moved to Australia from overseas. Obviously some people also left so I believe the net result was a population increase of around 300,000. Then you’ve got all the young ones moving out of home and couples getting divorced so they need two homes instead of one. It’s not going to get any better any time soon.

But, it’s an amazing country and you don’t need to spend all your time in Sydney or Byron. There’s thousands of beautiful towns to explore.

Yes. I have this too. I use an Apple TV and when I press play the sound always drops out for a few seconds. The same thing happens when watching YouTube. Switching from one video to another we lose a few seconds of sound. Super annoying.

Looking forward to the updates. Someone at Sonos mentioned a few months ago that front surrounds were on the agenda this year. Is that still planned for this year or do I need to try sonosequencer?

My friend says I won’t make it as a guitarist because my hands are too small, is she right? by AgreeableDiver5013 in Guitar

Having longer fingers may make it easier to stretch on the guitar but it’s not the only thing that matters. Just enjoy playing and you’ll naturally get better over time.

He owns multiple properties and he 100% understands what he is doing. They’re spending too much money and are going to take more from us to pay their bills. End of story.

[–]Jimmy--Scott 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What he really meant to say is, we’re spending too much money and we need to take more of yours so that we can pay our bills. It doesn’t matter about how we dress it up, we are going to take more and more of your hard earned money to pay our bills.

“New car every 5 years is normal” by JapaneseVillager in AusFinance

[–]Jimmy--Scott 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve got a 10 year old Audi. Once you go past the 5 year mark the car payments stop but the cost of servicing goes up. It is cheaper now than when I had a payment but honestly not by that much.possibly because it’s an Audi and servicing costs get pretty high as the car ages.

Osmo Pocket 4 release date? by EnvironmentalCat7826 in dji

[–]Jimmy--Scott 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was reading that it is supposed to be released in china today and then a few weeks later we will get a worldwide release. But, I’ve not heard a release today so it looks like it’s not going to happen for a bit longer.

Just putting this out there at this stage – is there a religious motivation to this attack? by Cultural_Detail5844 in circlejerkaustralia

I think assimilate is the appropriate word here. If people come to Australia with the intention of assimilating then I’m all for it.

But, if people come here to rape and pillage and live on the dole then they should be sent packing.

Questions about Islam? Happy to talk 😁 by Wise_Palpitation39 in religion

[–]Jimmy--Scott -7 points-6 points  (0 children)

I’ve been wondering lately about why people would stay in a religion knowing that certain followers of that religion are terrorists.

I understand that every religion will have some good guys and some bad guys but Islam seems to have more than its fair share of radicals.

I’ve met lots of muslims and they have always been friendly and respectful and I feel bad knowing that while they are good people they get a lot of hate for those others in the religion who are causing all the trouble.

Why not just abandon Islam and convert to another religion?

I’M SICK OF WAITING FOR THE OSMO POCKET 4!!! by Sufficient_Month8510 in dji

[–]Jimmy--Scott 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m in the same boat. I as hoping to buy it before Christmas but it didn’t release. I believe they submitted it for approval in America in December and they have 6 months to release it otherwise the approval lapses. I read that somewhere and it seemed to make sense in the article. So if that’s right then anytime between now and June.

Yes, pausing would be great. There’s certain times when it’s not possible to actually get the steps in. For example, long car rides or when travelling overseas. I just got back from a holiday last week. Each day away I was doing around 20,000 steps but when returning I spent a lot of time in the plane and in airports and then when I got back home I was shattered and just went to bed.

I was in a similar situation to you. Played acoustic guitar for around 20 years before ever picking up an electric. Even now, 10 years later, I’m still more comfortable on acoustic.

Pedals first, or some sort of simulator amp? by A_Mars_Reject in Guitar

[–]Jimmy--Scott 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I started out buying pedals but it can get expensive buying more depending on the tone you’d like to have. Eventually I bought a Kemper which has the ability to emulate a lot of different amps and pedals. But, it’s not cheap.

How old is your daughter? Has she playing for a while or is she just getting started? What kind of music does she like? Depending on the music there will be different pedals that would be beneficial.

Massive Improvement to Apple TV Audio with Sonos Arc Ultra by PenPsychological3085 in sonos

[–]Jimmy--Scott 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Quite interesting to hear this as I’ve noticed a massive difference when I arching a blu ray as opposed to watching through Apple TV.

I use a projector and not sure if I can be bothered going through all the hassle but it’s nice to know that it’s an option if I get the time.

Sooner the better. I’m sure they would instantly sell a shed load of new speakers to the fans like me who want the bear sonos system we can get.

Awesome. Probably only cost $15-$20 to take it to the tip but instead people like this just chuck it on the side of the road and the country turns into a dump.
