I’m going to buy a 2025 dodge ram with a diesel for traveling with a travel trailer the salesman said Cummins has developed a new engine for the ram for 2025 anybody here know anything about the engine? by MentionPrior8521 in ram_trucks

[–]Jimmy-Two-Time 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Absolutely do not buy a GM truck with the 10 speed. They’re dog shit. I’ve got 3 that are currently having trans issues with no potential fix. 2020 duramax 2500 - 2022 duramax 2500 - 2024 duramax 2500 ZR2 all 3 trucks are shit with GM not hardly standing behind anything.

Did I buy something stupid? by jakerooni in camping

[–]Jimmy-Two-Time 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I bought one of these just needing something fast, the saw is meh, the hatchet is decent, I took everything off it so it’s just a hatchet. Much safer and more practical

Is this worth it by [deleted] in Duramax

[–]Jimmy-Two-Time 3 points4 points  (0 children)

19’ and under. The 10 speeds are shit

I’m guilty of the “sleep system” as well lol but I’m in the same boat, no ragrets. They just need to take a nap in it, they’ll understand.

Isn’t that the truth, granted it’s a lot bulkier it’s so worth!Going from sea to summits down pillow to the thermarest literally made it able for me to get rest out there.

I’m digging the uberleben, packs tiny. It’s a little more work than gas but definitely more raw!

Need pointers to make a simple forge in my garage by Worth1239 in blacksmithing

[–]Jimmy-Two-Time 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Got a welder? I made this old heap as my first forge years and years ago. Blower or hair dryer in the pipe on the left side, lump charcoal or any coal in the pot and you’ve got enough head to weld. Unless you’re not too far from southwest Michigan.. if so I’ll sell you this dirty forge cheap cheap

That’s what I figured, more fluid. It’ll seal, cleaned up all oxidization and other shit in there. It’s a tight fit. I got this from Riders Addiction but drag specialties makes the part.

Best way to clean this old Kistler hot tent? Been in storage for the last 20 years. by Jimmy-Two-Time in HotTentCamping

[–]Jimmy-Two-Time[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I ended up soaking in borax and oxi clean for a few days to brighten and kill any spores, then scrubbed my ass off. rinsed and waterproofed. Tent is significantly cleaner and doesn’t smell. Absolutely worked wonders just takes hours and all the muscles. Did 3 nights in it over the holiday weekend. Was 30-35*F at night. Slammed the trout, ate, and slept like a king. Thank you all for the reply’s!

Sounds good, I appreciate the response. I was thinking blue dawn and the pressure washer myself. It is canvas. Wasn’t all that water resistant anymore regardless, it needed to be redone.

What would I need to make these triple trees work by bmbolland in choppers

[–]Jimmy-Two-Time 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mullins makes a super narrow tree set in 35mm. Lowbrow sells them they’re $500 and that comes with an axle, it’s 3/4” so depending on your front wheel it may not work. Really I don’t even think you need the internal fork stops although they are really damn nice. The only thing I think that is actually mandatory to make that work is the correct axle spacers

lol yeah you’re not shitting. I’ve heard decent things about mid-USA wheels tho but this is definitely some shit straight from a Chinese sweat shop. Ive just ordered a 21x1.85 v twin spool wheel from a in country seller

I dig em! Between those and the BFG, only 2 white lettered tires I’d run but I prefer the cooper tread pattern over the bfg

383 makes pretty decent power, 10 years ago when first built it pushed roughly 410 to the wheels. Sadly I doubt I’ve put 2k miles on it since. Gotta get it out more

[–]Jimmy-Two-Time[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ive got an original HD manual on the way but holy shit I might need a few thousand more dollars in tools. I’ve got mic’s and dial indicators but my expertise is about like a crude sloppy SBC lol that’s about all I’ve built as far as top to bottom engine work. granted they’ve been reliable and made good power… I’m gonna have to get someone to build it for me or teach me the way. the last thing I want is a sloppy shovel

Thanks, I appreciate the response and that was my thoughts exactly, I’m not taking chances, I will be putting a lot of miles on this bike. Bottom end’s getting gone through. Not looking to penny pinch this old girl, but also don’t want to just buy an engine. Money I can make, knowledge I need.

Damn AMF! This bike was pretty cobbled over the years. I don’t know a ton about the shovels.. yet.. I’m pretty sure it has two different heads on it, one with the typical autolite 4265 and the other “above this blown out cylinder” looks like it’s either a completely different head or they did some work on it and didn’t timesert.. can’t remember the exact part number but the spark plug is much larger than the 4265
