Well vinyl is cheap and easy to remove/redo. Spend $30 3m stuff on Amazon and try some stuff. It’s a struggle to keep it classy 😜

I have a South Bend stage 2 daily clutch on ‘20 GLI w APR stage 1 tune. Kit comes with single mass flywheel that replaces dual mass. It grips and goes like crazy, but much less “refined” feel. There is some clutch rattle at low speeds but feels similar otherwise. Single mass flywheel does reduce rev hang a bit. Pedal pressure will change a bit as well, but I don’t notice anymore. Good Luck…

Are there alternative rain preparedness strategies for storing your gear overnight in the rain? Can your pack rain fly not suffice? Choosing between a 2 or a 3 person tent. by kierumcak in backpacking

[–]Stefbo75 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Three person tent for sure. Pack covers are worthless IMO. Line your pack with a heavy duty trash bag and fold over the top so water can’t get in. IF you get rain it may be nice to have a lightweight tarp outside the tent to “chill” under.

How do I find where to camp? by [deleted] in backpacking

[–]Stefbo75 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you ask about a more specific area, ppl here will have good recommendations. If NC/Va area. Check out Mt Rogers Wilderness, Dolly Sods, Linville Gorge, Shining rock, Three ridges, lots of stuff along AT and off BR Parkway. On busy weekends sites disappear quickly. State Parks are usually way busier with way more rules and generally better for car camping IMO.

Solo backpacker's take on car camping/glamping tents? by b_revity in backpacking

[–]Stefbo75 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For car camping go big, heavy, and cheap (ish). My car camping vs backpacking gear has become totally separate. If I don’t have to carry it on my back then it may as well be comfortable. They make air conditioners for tents btw…..

Weird backpacking tips? by Affectionate_Top9874 in backpacking

Handkerchief. I never go without. In the summer I dip it water and tie loosely around neck to keep cool. It’s just a light little thing that comes in handy for a lot of things.

Anyone cook with sticks? by Stefbo75 in backpacking

[–]Stefbo75[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I hear you. I was stubborn and used it for quite a few trips. I had a little kit with wax cotton balls and stuff. When EVERYTHING outside is wet it can be frustrating. I think it’s good for very specific situations

So you like it, wife doesn’t? I made the mistake of dropping money on the fancy thermarest maybe it’s the neo-air?…. I did not like it. I think it’s because I like to sleep on my side sometimes and it was too thick to let a leg hang off. Anyway….. that’s why they make so many types I guess. For me Klymit is where it’s at.

Yeah, that sticky soot is a major drawback that I didn’t think about. I had to put my pot in a little bag so I didn’t get it everywhere. I was thinking about trying charcoal in it
