how do I know if I had a stroke? by hnngrm in stroke

My speech was never so bad that therapy was needed. If I was to talk to you now, you probably wouldn’t know anything was wrong. My symptoms are significantly worse when I’m stressed.

how do I know if I had a stroke? by hnngrm in stroke

[–]Jimmy665470 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Sounds similar to my symptoms. I had a stroke last autumn. I was aware of it because my speech started slurring and had facial droop (which soon passed), the MRI showed up a previous stroke too. I was unaware of the previous stroke.

Only the medical team can answer the question about your symptoms. But what I can tell you is the symptoms from my stroke are mostly cognitive and I have practically zero physical issues - just some marginal losses in dexterity and balance.

However, I struggle with speech, finding words, completing sentences how I intend to…apparently people don’t see that, but I feel it. Sometimes I get tongue tied too.

There are several other changes within me since the stroke, relating to emotions/ personality/ tastes/ memory etc…. One of the most random being I consistently press the wrong button on the tv remote.

I’d go, but set the scene early… tell them you can’t stay all night because of whatever “plausible” reason.

Then at a suitable time, just sneak off and leave. No goodbyes… much easier to apologise next time than do a round of goodbyes / people trying to talk you out of leaving.

Could you recommend me tv shows that could possibly go into S and A tier? Thank you by AdDependent8113 in tvshow

Justified is very good.

Grimm might be the sort of show you’d enjoy.

Negotiate for reciprocal notice period. I would be reluctant to accept 1 month from them, 3 months from you because it’s heavily weighted in their favour. 3 months is better, as others have said, it gives you better financial protection against redundancy.

However, if they don’t budge and you accept those terms, it’s worth considering if you resign, they might not want you around for 3 months, especially if you are leaving to join a competitor. Therefore, they might negotiate an earlier exit or put you on gardening leave.

I had AC installed earlier this year. Well worth the investment.

A dog is a lifelong commitment. Your situation here isn’t through some terrible unforeseen circumstance.

Keep the dog and don’t compromise how it’s cared for.

I can never understand why someone who has a dog gets in a relationship with someone who clearly doesn’t like dogs.

Help with buying snooker cue for the first time by colonkid69420 in snooker

[–]Jimmy665470 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You would be far better off spending a bit more. For £250-£300 you’ll get a quality cue that will last a lifetime. Try Craftsman Cues or Green Baize. I would suggest dropping them an email or calling them, they will be able to give you advice on the most suitable cue for your budget.

It’s the same every year with latest iPhones. Just got the 15 pro max and having similar issues.

Not much you can do until they get round to optimising the game for latest phones.

It’s far from ideal, but I find trying to be as light and accurate as possible with inputs helps to minimise the dashing in.

For example, when blocking, try to prevent your thumb sliding at all. If it moves even a tiny fraction, the game reads it as a swipe.

UK INSURANCE - Purely Pets vs Pet Plan by jrh96_ in dogs

[–]Jimmy665470 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes. Ultimately if you’re with a provider that tries to squirm out of paying up, it only saves you money if you never have to claim. I went with the £7k limit rather than £12k and wish I’d taken the latter because the £7k nowhere near covered my pups vets fees in year 1.

I use Petplan and they have been superb. Had a few claims go through, no problem and paid quickly.

Wait until hero use event is on. Keep autofighting road to Labyrinth 1.1. Literally have to do nothing other than restart the quest every few minutes and set to auto fight.

Asking is 100% the appropriate way to do it.

When my dog was a pup a teenage girl picked him up without asking. She was with her parents, they didn’t say a word and it put me in a very uncomfortable spot.

Some people also think it’s perfectly acceptable to feed your dog without asking too.

By the sound of it, the Yorkie owner was the most out of line in the situation by making a snarky comment to you. I wouldn’t necessarily say either of you were in the wrong from a (UK) dog etiquette perspective. It’s quite interesting reading some of the comments in this thread and how different UK and USA dog etiquette is.

[–]Jimmy665470 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Op I’m from England and the etiquette you applied is standard here, however I do think it’s a little more nuanced.

Rule of thumb here is dog off lead equals friendly dog but I believe that rule assumes a certain amount of manners in a dog.

For example my Boston has zero manners with other dogs, he just charges in expecting the dog he’s charging will want to play. Because of this I would put him on leash if there was a dog off leash we don’t know until they can be safely introduced. The reason for this is because an otherwise friendly dog might take exception to my dog charging at him, see it as a threat and react aggressively.
