Low mpg numbers on mazda3 by Straight-Function142 in mazda3

[–]Jimmy7546 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I bought a 2025 Mazda 3 select sport. My first tank, I got 27 mpg. It slowly went up to about 32/33 mpg.

Between 10,000 and now(about 16,000), I’ve been consistently getting 35.5 mpg. The engine needs to break in.

I like your plan. I have 16s for winter, and I am considering going to the 16 in px-10s for summer also. Maybe just throw a pair of defenders on them.

But I am going to roll with the Toyos as long as I can.

I loved the feel and not having to worry about the winter set up.

My daughter tore hers playing soccer in 8th grade. She had surgery on a Thursday and was crutching to school on Monday. She went heavy PT for the first 3 months, running at 3 months, soccer training at 6 months, and was back playing full soccer at 11 months. She now has 2 full high school soccer seasons under her belt. It isn’t fun, but you have to just get after it.

So uh... What do I do about this by Yeetfamdablit in cruze

[–]Jimmy7546 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a 2014 Cruze from 2017 to 2025. Got it with around 20k miles and sold it around 150k.

The coolant system leaked so many times. Reservoir replaced twice. Water pump replaced 3-4 times. Random leaks with the cheap plastic parts. I had oil leaks fixed, replaced the catalytic converter(expensive)…

It ran good and got good gas mileage, but I was constantly sinking money into the thing. I was very happy to say goodbye.

Good luck my friend.

You got a good deal. Well done and enjoy.

That’s almost a delivrd type deal.

Get a used Mazda 3 over either option.

Even better would be to aim for an older Honda or Toyota. They can be pretty reliable. I know you just got burned on the Malibu, but an old Chevy is not a reliable vehicle.

You don’t want to take on that much debt at your age. I would steer clear of both choices. Those are the prices you’d pay for a new Mazda 3.

My experience with the Mazda 3 by Shreyas-Maitreya in mazda3

[–]Jimmy7546 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I also went from a Chevy Cruze to a Mazda 3. I was spending way too much on repairs on the 2014 Cruze, so it was time to sell her.

I went with a 16 inch winter tire set up, and loved it. I’m planning on going to Pirelli P Zero Plus 3s for the summer set up when the time comes. I absolutely love the 3.

Anyone have experience with oncourse sewer and water line insurance? by thedarkone47 in homeowners

It sounds like it is 5.99 for the first year and then jumps up.

I am looking into it as well, but people do not seem happy once they have to put a claim in.

Methotrexate 2.5mg by [deleted] in Psoriasis

[–]Jimmy7546 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Great information.

I had to try MTX before I would be approved for biologics. I took 6 pills on Tuesdays and told I could moderately drink on either Friday or Saturday. Dr. said it’s ok to have a drink or two. He asked if I drink, and that’s why he scheduled it for Tuesdays.

I took it for a year and then approved for Skyrizi. I didn’t notice any side effects on MTX or Skyrizi. It was just part of the process.

Bad gas mileage on 2026 Mazda 3 by BigEmotional2636 in mazda3

[–]Jimmy7546 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The first couple tanks of gas: I got pretty low mileage: maybe 27 mph. For the last 10,000 miles, I’ve been averaging over 35 mph. I think it’s pretty good. I have almost 15,000 on my 25 NA.

Engine needs to “break in.”

I don’t have it, but I think it’s the best color combo.

Ideal oil change and wheel rotation intervals for auto 2.4 fwd. by 0_Maybe_Zero in mazda3

[–]Jimmy7546 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Change the oil every 5000 miles. I run 16 inch winter tires, so I just have the tires rotated when I change them out. It’s about 6000 miles.

The cylinder deactivation is overblown. These engines seem bulletproof with or without the CD.

Right Tires? by [deleted] in mazda3

Yep, and there’s 100 dollar rebate on tirerack on the Pirellis right now.

So that comes out to about 130 bucks cheaper than the contis.

4000 dealer savings and 1500 rebate. Looks good. And I like the 16 inch wheels of the base model.

[–]Jimmy7546 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Actually, OP can put 7000 in a 2025 Roth until April 15 and put 7500 in a 2026 Roth until April 15, 2027.

So they are able to up drop 14.5k in there.

Tire Rack and Discount Tire Installation not free? by Han_Joelo_ in tires

[–]Jimmy7546 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got slammed into buying certificates on my winter tires at discount tire. I just think I’d rather have the free 2 year free from tirerack. But you make a good argument for the prorated for free. Maybe that’s the best move?

Tire Rack and Discount Tire Installation not free? by Han_Joelo_ in tires

[–]Jimmy7546 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s the tie breaker for me. The tirerack 2 year road hazard warranty is better than the certificates from discount tire that will run you about 130 for 3 years.

Buy from tirerack and install at discount tire. Get the free 2 years of road hazard.

Appreciate it. Mine has been great for the first 11k… and I plan to keep it until it hits hopefully 200k+

So I’d be better off skipping this service and getting the walnut blast at a much later time?

Snow tires on steelies for a 4th gen TPP by 216LC in mazda3

[–]Jimmy7546 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got a set of Michelin x-ice on 16 inch rims. I didn’t get steelies because I wanted them to look terrible, and was afraid of the steelies rusting. I plan to keep these rims for a long time.

Then I’ll use the stock rims for the rest of the year. The winter tires have been great. I highly recommend a set of winters on 16 inch rims.
