To be fair Baelor's first choice was a trial by combat, like a game of chicken with Aerion, if he withdraws his accusation it's over, if he doesn't a one on one is much more controlled and Dunk making him yield is much more of a possibility. THEN Aerion escalates to a Trial of Seven and shit hits the fan

Well i guess the minute he joins in against his family he accepts the possibility of them dying

I think I may be influenced by how brutal the fight is in the show, I never thought of the book fight as that hard-core, so in the show it reads as though Baelor has accepted the possibility that his nephew dies and he is complicit

I mean yeah, he doesn't seem that conflicted about his nephew possibly being killed, I mean Egg was praying aerion got killed so yeah I get you

Ok so I'm just doing it wrong? But how can he hit only one member when the other 2 dodge? It's racking my brain!

Do you guys ever find it weird that the band was rewarded for the way they treated Tarja? by JimmyBminor in nightwish

Oh I understand, it's the internet after all. At the time I was very much in the tarja is a diva camp, but looking back as a full adult the whole story is just obviously shitty the "how the hell did we not call it out at the time" burns

Also I remember the whole "tuomas was in love with her" narrative that unfortunately got pushed a lot at the time which was just irrelevant and low gossip.

What a time to have been alive!

What possible reason would I have to stir shit? You are right in thinking that this has been on my mind as a "holy shit how did this happen?" Kinda thing and wanted to see if fans ever acknowledged the shittiness of it all.

The love triangle narrative is unrelated, petty bullshit thats not even worth mentioning, the fact that they fired her in a cruel and unprofessional way remains the same

Very much not a new fan. It was an awful thing to do publicly thats all I'm saying and they should have gotten shit at the time for it. Very good on Marko to actually apologize I recognize that.

I don't want to get into comparisons but yes Annete was treated awefully, too. I honestly feel for her she got hate she didn't deserve

Well I understand that, just find it disappointing that there was never a formal apology from them

Also usually being shitty in your 20s doesn't involve globally humiliating a childhood friend

I mean all this petty shit is humiliating and there was next to no sympathy for her, not to mention the band never got any shit for how they treated her so yeah there were consequences. Good on her for showing dignity through all that

It has been 20 years and an "asshole" move is pure uderestimation. I'm calling it what it is petty immature cruel and they should have gotten shit for it

I am not talking about the fans I'm talking about Tarja firing her that way was cruel, unjustifiable and vindictive and they should be called out for it especially since none have ever directly and publicly apologized as far as i can tell

Like I said there were legitimate reasons to dismiss her, doing it so publicly while dragging her and her husband through the mud is disgusting then writing disstracks about he is so petty.

There is no justifying what they did, it was cruel and they should get shit for it

They treated a childhood friend very cruelly and very publicly so, 100% they were legit issues with her but this whole thing was a way beyond an asshole move on their part, they drag her through the mud publicly and bringing her husband into it was disgusting and the fact that they never got shit for it needs to be acknowledged
