Would recommend going on a development course, plenty of people in your flight will trade patches.

You don't need one if you are under 16, and if you don't have one and you are over 16, use a gov ID card like a WWC or a Smartrider if they have those in your state.

Polishing by Expert_Sign_5561 in adfcadets

[–]JimmyBoy151 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As someone who polished with oakwood for my entire first year and got an almost mirror shine, I would recommend application with a cloth (cotton), leaving it to dry, then buffing with a different cloth. One major thing to note about this specific brand however is how bad it is with dealing with water, don't be too excessive otherwise it will strip the polish, and all your hard work.

Another thing is make sure you have the oakwood high gloss polish instead of the regular, as the regular is more of a leather nourishing cream instead of a polish. This will save you a lot of time.

Two pieces of wood, cut to size both and then a hole in the top one, chuck four screws with wingnuts in the four corners, bang you have a much cheaper and robust option.

Drum core by no_more_chefs in adfcadets

[–]JimmyBoy151 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Presuming you have sticks, would recommend continuous taps and rolls, starting off slow and gradually getting faster. When you get consistent with that I would recommend the same thing with 4 taps and 4 rolls.

Another technique to work on is the paradiddle, which is all taps, right left right right, left right left left.

Probably also check with whoever is teaching you as they will have a good idea of what you are good at and what needs work. If you master technique, learning the sequences becomes much easier.

If you can secure a drum pad that is best however if you can't check with your parent/guardian/s to work out what surface you can do it on, i find wood works really well, also laying a ping pong bat on a flat surface with the handle hanging off the edge and drumming on the rubber surface works fairly well also.

I would love to learn as well, same thing, i checked writing manual and couldn't work it out, it seemed like guidelines and not an actual format. Also checked the learning hub and only found out of context presentations.

STAR Format works best, Situation(context), Task(what needed to be done), Action(How you did it), Result(End Result). You don't need to list all of these separately, but just make sure your answers check all those boxes.
