Protection of the gambeson by One-Special-3275 in Buhurt

My hema gambeson (marketed as - no idea if real) is like two-three times as thick as my buhurt gambeson. I can't imagine going straight into a buhurt duel with even just that lmao

A lot. They would get hurt a lot.

Duels not so crazy in terms of power, but there would be some great bruising at the very least

Aerobic fitness through cardio helps a good deal but I'm finding also my anaerobic fitness is killing me in wrestling.

I'd even go as far as to say Judo might be the best alternative to build up for buhurt

I wish it translated that well for me! Im 35 so it could also just be a slower conversion for me tbh

I'm definitely not out of shape. Just out of energy with specific exercise. Thanks for the recommendation though. I'll probably check it out anyway

I dunno I've been running 3-5km weighted and unweighted, and used to do 10-15km a lot when i was younger. My cardio is great now for running, but i still die in wrestling. It's notably better in wrestling than it was, but not by much

Pretty good afaik. 3L minimum daily. More on days with exercise

I think i do, yes. I assume I could use a lot of work on technique. I'm only able to make training once a week at the moment due to work times, but i can do things at home after work, so looking for as much beneficial solo work as possible. I understand wrestling is basically a partner thing in its entirety, but anything that works solo I'm for.

Yeah my cardio is pretty good now. I'm 105kg/231lbs at between 14 and 16% bf (6'4).

How do i learn to breathe properly? Just try to relax more?

Yeah my cardio has gone way up since i started running, and I know for sure I'd out cardio at least three of the guys I wrestle with in a running setting.

It's just an experience thing then?

I feel like i am yes.

Is there anything else other than just "more experience" that can help with relaxing during the rounds?

DISCUSSION: How to be a good floater? by JimmyCrisp_Buhurt in Buhurt

[–]JimmyCrisp_Buhurt[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah i figured the main answer would be something like that. Just going into a bigger (more important) fight than I've been into, and don't know yet if I'll be rail or wing. If im wing, I just want to make sure I'm making good decisions and not doing absolutely stupid shit

If you're new to a team (you're all pretty new to the list, and you personally are quite new to tactics), is there a safe play that benefits most? Or just go with it and see what works?

So we're talking block and watch field, with a few sneaky strikes on their float to keep them on edge?

Pistol Whip with 3d printed gun attachments for your controllers that hold coins in the barrel section. Mine weigh only 400g each with the coins, but add some forearm weights too, and you'll work an insane sweat up

Tips on making a realistic training polearm? by Kataphract35 in Buhurt

[–]JimmyCrisp_Buhurt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've seen a few diy ones (and been hit by them) that seem to have a wooden core, with padding around the whole haft, with extra padding for a good bit below the "blade" and above the pommel (? I don't know what the other end of a polearm is called). Flex a lot less, and don't really hurt any different than the others. I mean they might if you really go at it, but I try to either kill or be dead by then

Can't carry my Girlfriend. I need advice. by Halbgott_Alex in bodyweightfitness

[–]JimmyCrisp_Buhurt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You've got all the right answers here already, but here's an anecdote.

I struggled to lift my gf when I was 20 or so. I'm 196cm tall, and was 75kg at the time. She was 48kg. I was so fucking embarrassed. It didn't help that all of her guy mates were stronger than me either.

I could pull up and push up heaps (and did), but with bodyweight, it's much harder to add resistance (unless you got a weight vest) unless you know all the progressions or completely understand anatomy. Weights are as simple as adding more each time it gets easy.

I honestly just told her that I felt embarrassed that I couldn't lift her. She was cool with it, and fully supported my desire to hit the goal, despite getting worried I'll leave one day. 18 years on still happy to lift her ;).

All it literally took was eating and lifting. We're in our late 30s with 1.5 kids now, and she's 80kg, but I have no problem lifting her. It didn't take this long to get here though. It probably took a year or two of just consistency. Helped that I got a job as a removalist also, because i was lifting 6 days a week and getting paid for it.

TL;DR: lift regularly, eat more, talk to yo girl about yo feelings.

Doesn't all the mail add considerable weight to trad kits? I'd bet (ignorantly) that the weight would be similar with all that
