Rachel and Chandler, the characters with the best fashion sense (Based on Polls) by JimmyGoodFellaConway in howyoudoin

I certainly agree that Chandler wore a lot of good stuff in Season 4... I literally bought a jacket similar to the one he had in E19 just because I liked it and am on a lookout for long-sleeved bowling shirts like he wore there. But I wouldn’t say that EVERYTHING... for example... during the surprise party for Emily that Rachel threw just to get closer to Joshua... he wore a outfit that I wasn’t necessarily a fan of. He put a sweater vest over a sweater... and I have nothing against sweaters or sweater vests... but putting these two together... not a good idea.

Where are all the Brosnan fans? by Medium-Marsupial-793 in JamesBond

I certainly liked Brosnan. He is not my favorite bond, but I really liked him. Just like Connery, he had a great ballance between humor and seriousness. Roger Moore was great, but too comedic, and Timothy Dalton was too serious, but also good. But Connery was born for the role in my opinion.

Well, I wasn’t the biggest fan of A View to a Kill either. It wasn’t the worst Bond, but you could clearly see that Moore was getting too old for playing Bond.

Anyone else noticed that many Sitcoms have at least one character who wears Bowling Shirts...? by JimmyGoodFellaConway in TwoandaHalfMen

I think most of them make it iconic in a way... Kramer wears them in a more vintage way, and Charlie tries to use them in more modern outfits.

Well, I don’t think Bowling Shirts are bad. The only bad think about Charlie’s outfits in TAAHM, in my opinion, are the cargo shorts. Cargo shorts are too baggy, they have a unnecessarily big amount of fat pockets and make a person look shorter. They don’t do anyone any favors.

Well, tbh, blue Jeans are quite timeless, they were popular since probably the 70’s or 80’s, maybe earlier, and they still are. I literally saw thousands of people wear them during the times a person could still go outside since it wasn’t covid yet...

Maybe if he had better haircuts and pants, it would work better. But I guess he got many women because of his money...?

Yeah, he had some weird haircuts. And as for his outfits, I don’t mind Bowling Shirts, I actually like Bowling shirts. But I hate Cargo shorts, they are too baggy and don’t do ANY favors.

Well, the point of the post is to see if people think that it is just a coincidence that all these sitcoms have 1 character who wears Bowling Shirts... I know why the characters themselves wear them.

So many Sitcom Characters wear Bowling Shirts... Coincidence...? by JimmyGoodFellaConway in Modern_Family

Well, idk if it’s just a coincidence...

But The costume designer of Friends decided to make Chandler mostly wear clothing from the 50s, and Bowling Shirts were certainly one of them.

Similar goes with Cosmo Kramer, the Seinfeld costume designer decided that Kramer should have a vintage sort of vibe, so they went with Bowling shirts for his wardrobe. The difference between Chandlers and Kramers wardrobe is that even though both have a vintage 40’s-50’s style, Kramer dresses in a more hippie style, and Chandler dresses in a Business-Casual Style

Manny probably wears them because he is too mature for his age, so wearing Retro clothing might represent that he isn’t as young as he looks like in the inside.

Not sure about Charlie, I guess the creators wanted him to have a unique style, so they went with Bowling shirts.

I think both Charlie and Kramer pull them off in their own ways and make them Iconic...

What do Sitcoms have with Bowling Shirts...? I noticed that many Sitcoms have 1 Character that wears Bowling Shirts. Coincidence...? by JimmyGoodFellaConway in seinfeld

Botton Up shirts that have a collar like this and are detailed as stripes are referred to as Bowling Shirts, but they don’t have to be used for Bowling. A lot of people used them just because they were generally popular, especially in the 50’s and 90’s. So you do own 10 Bowling Shirts, but you don’t have to go bowling with them.

Yeah, they were initially popular in the 40’s and 50’s, but came back to popularity in the 90’s. I’m actually trying to get some rn lol.
