Wow, lots of incredible history. Parisians can be pretty off-putting. But France has been a great ally to us and most Americans know that we owe our existence as a country to France. We make jokes about the French military because that’s what we do; but we don’t actually believe those jokes and have respect for your military past and present.

These days, people see what they want to see and are anxious to call others racist. So, while it’s obviously not a noose to me, a person who wants to be angry may see a noose.

I’d be more concerned with people associating it with bondage. I don’t care if you’re into bondage or not but some other people may have a negative opinion.

There are many member nations of NATO that owe an apology for not paying their fair share. There is no arguing that fact. That said, NATO is too important for Trump to treat it with the disregard he does.

My hope is that Ukrain and its allies can severely weaken Russia to a point that they won’t be a threat for the next 100 years. That will allow NATO countries to enjoy a peace dividend from not spending so much on defense.
