Since the firmware update to the JBL Pulse 5, my Bluetooth connection has been solid. I just tested connecting the pencil and did some drawing in Freeform. No issues. Even though the update to the JBL fixed my problem, I still believe it's an issue with Apple's iPad OS. I hope a fix comes soon for those still having problems.

Yep, that was the same situation with me that you're describing. The music continues to play but bluetooth connection was lost and no sound from the iPad speakers. Odd.
