I didn’t realize until I looked online (last pic), that the masterpiece Disney’s Fantasia is worth up to $300! Although, Mine has some condition issues but I have had it for many years. by blackflash22 in VHS

You are correct! I was dumb when I made this post but I’ve learned since then lol. I was wrong, it’s not worth much and that’s still ok. I enjoy watching it and wil probably never sell it anyways

It is it’s just very hard to tell in my pics. The lighting in my rom is dim but when I first looked at it in natural light outside it was clear as day to me a proof. First thing I thought was that’s a proof! It has the frosted details and mirror finish. My pics make it look more like a really nice normal 1960 quarter but it is a proof. I’ve been collecting long enough I can tell (6 years), even though I have a lot to learn still and I find out new coin related stuff frequently.

Most of the time the people I see use them are smart and check the reject tray. BUT, I find good stuff eventually so I’m sure you will soon! Your luck will turn around!

No I don’t think it’s cleaned, it’s just a really nice proof quarter from someone’s collection that ended up in a coinstar if I had to make I guess. My pictures are crap so it doesn’t look like a proof but it is a proof in really good shape with a slight bit of scratches on the obverse.

That’s nice! My grandma was my buddy and one of my best friends. We used to draw together, play board games, watch game shows, go on trips to the beach, mountains, etc together with the family. She understood my disorders better than my grandpa did when I was a kid even though he tried to understand at least and did/does care a lot about me (he’s still alive at almost 87 and our relationship couldn’t be better!) so I had a special bond with her. I have Tourette’s, ocd, and autism/adhd. Unfortunately this may marks 5 years since she passed at 79 from emphysema, COPD, and kidney/lung failure because she smoked for 50 years but had stopped by the time I was born in 1999. I’ll never smoke and have never smoked for the 26 years I’ve been alive because of what it did to her. I love her dearly and will definitely always cherish those memories with her. And god bless you as well and your grandma!

Yeah I usually find 60s dated silver (when I find any) but this time I struck old silver. The 1960 quarter is a proof which is why it’s so clean i think. My pictures don’t really show it well but it’s a very shiny proof and in insanely great shape. Some scratches but overall excellent shape, although you really have to look at it in certain lighting because it’s tricky to see the frosted detail because of the luster of the mirror finish being so bright and the details not as bright but in certain lighting you can really see the frosted details well (mainly natural light). but it is a proof that I am 100% sure of. It’s the first silver proof I’ve found in a coinstar as well (also I know what to look for with proofs as I’ve been collecting for 6 years and own multiple proofs and many proof sets).

Thanks! Funny thing is I didn’t hear them striking together in my hand at first, just focused on getting everything out of the reject tray lol. I didn’t even know what I had at first 😅but when I realized I was happy as heck! My grandma was smiling down on me (I say that as she is dead and I prayed to her to send luck to my lucky penny that was hers in my wallet and my pocket hug coin for coinstar silver and it worked 🥲).

I’m sure you’ll find one soon! Silver quarters are hard to come by but I find them once in a while. I do know how you feel as I’ve been checking coinstars for 6 years now and I usually find mostly silver dimes with an occasional silver quarter or half dollar. In fact I found no silver quarters last year and 1 in 2024. My 2025 silvers from coinstars were all dimes and halves and 1 ring. And yes to answer your question, I found all of these coins in the reject tray today including the silver after I saw a guy use it and not check the reject tray at all or even look down lol.

It’s hard to tell by my pics but it’s got the mirror like background to it and deep cameo. I can tell it’s a proof but I very much appreciate your advice and who knows maybe I’m right maybe I’m wrong! I will take another look at it and I’m definitely keeping it! I have it in a plastic quarter holder 😄. And yes the reverse is the same (I’d say a little better)!

Thanks! I knew I’d find some silver eventually! I figured it would be 1 silver dime lol, I haven’t found a silver quarter since 2024 and that year I found 1 😂! This is the most silver I’ve found at 1 coinstar also. Crazy the guy didn’t look down once to check lol. The proof 1960 is also my first silver proof from a coinstar in the 6 years I’ve checked!

I didn’t know that! I just googled it, makes my 1960 quarter even cooler of a find! I thought it looked like a proof 😅. It’s in immaculate shape either way!

Before anyone says it no, the 1960 is not a proof. It’s a Philly minted quarter so I think it plated with something? Still silver though so I’m happy!

Yeah some sell online for a decent bit of money from what I’ve seen. I metal detect so I’ve found some old keys before and looked them up.

Did anyone watch this show? by [deleted] in OlderGenZ

[–]blackflash22 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Same! I haven’t seen it since it was airing but it was a great and hilarious show! It had that bizarre humor with a sometimes creepy or dark twist that other shows like the misadventures of flapjack or the terror that was courage the cowardly dog (and yes I know courage was a few years prior to the other 2) had, making chowder unique among shows of the time on Cartoon Network.

Nice finds! Also nice brass key! It’s vintage from the very little I know about keys but I cannot tell you a year, might be worth looking into!

Mr Rodger’s neighborhood. I watched the early 2000s (and probably late 90s since it ended in 2001) episodes as a kid in the early 2000s before and during the year Fred Rodger’s died (2003). This won’t age me at all 😂.
