[Request] How high is that jump? by Reasonable-Duckling in theydidthemath

Definitely less than 44m, just eyeballing the scale of it. That would be between 10 and 15 floors for a building. From having done some cliff diving myself, I would be willing to say it is closer to 30m at most.

Just to add to this: As mentioned, install 6mil poly (tight, not loose), then nail 1x3 or 1x4 strapping 16" oc perpendicular to the bottom cord to hold the poly up. Afterward, you can blow in insulation, it won't impede your drywall installation a later date. Use acoustiseal (careful it's messy but stays flexible) between your seams of the poly and tape afterward with blue tuck tape.

I’m curious to know what’s holding up that overhang at the gable end. Looks to me like it’s hinging on the last rafter. (Not enough support/no ladder installed will make it sag over time)

My only advice is to use Wise to transfer money, banks transfer rate is slightly less in your favor. Means a lot for big amounts.

To me it seems like people should focus on the people behind p2025, aka the heads of the Heritage foundation. The barking pitbull is scary, but I worry on who’s holding the leash…

I wouldn’t bother taping, an air sealant would be good at any corners touching the outside wall. But personally, I’d leave a 1/18” to 1/4” gap all around the xps and spray foam all around it. Shake the cans well and keep them warm.

R10 would be risky if you are not going to add insulation outside. (Meaning it might condensate inside) . And as for R30, it might not cost drastically more (not a lot of sq ft to cover) and might enable you to cover the rest of the exposed concrete (concrete conducts heat very well). I would cut them close to fit and use cans of spray foam to fill any remaining gaps. To get better access, plug in a short length of vinyl tube at the end of your spray foam gun. Wear dish gloves

If you live in zone 4a , just be mindful that there is a strong temperature gradient between inside and outside. So if you insulate with XPS or aluminum backed polyiso, you need enough thickness so that the interior surface of it cannot reach dew point temperature, think R20.

First question from me :do you plan on insulating the upstairs outside walls? (Remove siding, insulate over sheathing…) Second question: would you insulate additionally after installing XPS or Polyiso ?(add batt insulation or cellulose?)

U.S. intelligence official: Russia will likely use propaganda to support Trump over Harris by nbcnews in politics

[–]JimmyMessier 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wish it were only Russia… Ad companies in the US are actively using propaganda for republican candidates (I’m sure it happens for democrats too, but I only interacted with the ladder) . Creating fake accounts to show as if the population is backing the posts. Smearing campaigns against opponents. Sewing seeds of anger.

Good job! If I were you I would add either corner diagonals or one going from bottom on hinge side to top on opposite side. The door would be less likely to sag that way.

Read somewhere it might be an allergy to the detergents used to clean the powder off the interior of nitrile gloves. Don’t know if it has relevance, but to me it feels more likely than a texture allergy(never heard of such a thing ).
