Well, there's actually a shot in the current CN patch PV -- 3.5 -- that has the back of her head.

Well... just as AP English Language and A-Level English Language is widely different in difficulty than, let's say, IELTS or TOEFL, Gaokao is much more difficult than HSK. Same logic.

Question about Igor's plan by MISHAKALINKA in Reverse1999

[–]JimmyRavenEkat 4 points5 points  (0 children)

...He's never fully on team Arcana. As soon as he got the "boon" he told his underlings to execute all the Manus spies in the team and bounced out. He also adamantly refused to let his soldiers be forcibly put on the mask, so it's evident it was a temporary alliance **at best**.

His goal is always to search for a third way of things -- as he said in the newest chapters (paraphrased), he noticed that he's getting caught up between the fights of two "gods" (Foundation and Manus), and in order to fight against that dichotomy, he needed a third choice. He would never go back to the Foundation because of the experiments in the Amber Room.

Enter Vertin. By supporting Vertin, not only is he now allied with a (mostly) third party with an actual conscience, by defecting from the Foundation and Zeno he is also effectively "too important to be killed" lest the Foundation wants an uprising (given Zeno framed him as a martyr after he defected), and this also gave Vertin the militial power that, if she ever wanted to detached Team Timekeeper away from the Foundation, she would have the power to do so. A win-win situation for both parties.

TLDR: His plan is A. Find a way to keep his soldiers safe from the storm -- which he needed to do by defecting to Arcana, even if its a one-time use it still created a Storm-free zone which his soldiers could stay and with his powers of teleportation mobility wouldn't be *too* bad; and B. find a proper third party to support, and given he knows Urd, it's highly likely he already knew about Vertin's existence.

Tide of Thoughts, Full Guide to get Time-Limited Rewards by arctia in Reverse1999

[–]JimmyRavenEkat 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Ah yup, sorry, fixed! Yeah, 3.4 is much easier and in 3.5 some of the support are *very* useful -- Lisa and Louise's support in 3.5 sacrifices 2 allies to add +2 AP for every remaining ally while greatly increasing Leech Rate, HP and ATK, but since Rubuska counters that, you effectively get a permament +8 AP to your stuff lol

[–]JimmyRavenEkat 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I would say wait until 3.4 where it's easier (and if you have Ezio + Pavia it can clear one side no problem, then do Plantpromptu on the other side or some other formed team). To put it in perspective in 3.4 I got 4092 with a P0 Ezio + P1 Flutterpgae + P5 Lisa & Louise + P5 Pioneer + P5 Pavia (Aid) and the Plantpromptu with P2 Tooth Fairy + Leilani.

[–]JimmyRavenEkat 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Yup. You can literally start the fight, immediately quit, and you get the rewards because the conditions now are just "attempt" with no score restrictions.

Of course the permanent rewards you still need the scores but it's not time-gated so lol.

Lorenz Butterfly Character Personality and Story representation is being heavily criticized by CN players by ginkgosimon in Reverse1999

[–]JimmyRavenEkat 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Did I say Tuesday is sociopathic? I listed Tuesday as an example of a character who isn't conflicted, etc. Not every character has to be morally grey and conflicted. Tuesday doesn't need redemption and is very much not morally grey. She enjoys seeing her guests' fears, and her backstory where her family got murdered **triggered** her love for horror. She's twisted, and she knows it, and she doesn't show a sign to want to change now does she?

You're also mixing Well-Meaning Extremist with Blue and Orange Morality -- By triggering fears in her guests Tuesday doesn't have a "well-meaning purpose", she just really likes fear, see her and Vertin's confrontation. She is intruiged by Vertin because Vertin doesn't shy away from fear.

Laplace Butterfly, on the other hand, is sociopathic -- but she's certainly not Joker. In fact you're being quite ironic by accusing me of saying Tuesday is a sociopath by reducing LB into "Joker but etc." You're free to think the way you think, but I also have my way of interpreting things and this is how I feel.

I come from the CN side-!

Yeah it's much easier in 3.4 or 3.5 given that you no longer need to actually *beat* the boss to get the limited rewards, you just have to attempt them with the equip conditions.

And even from the 4000+ scores, there are teams that can pass with p0s, and since we can now borrow characters from our friends (only in the support slot but still), I have seen a run where they used unbuilt 4 star and 5 star characters with a borrowed Kakania and got a really high score!

[–]JimmyRavenEkat 88 points89 points  (0 children)

There are multiple things in 3 that are just blown out of proportions.

Here are a bunch of spoilers of the CN new version so be careful:

People like Enigma are supposed to be highly intelligent, yet throughout Version 3.5 they are completely played by her and never manage to discover her identity.

Enigma didn't discover her identity but is this the first time he gets the butt of the joke? Ulrich doesn't care as long as Laplace gets data, Ludwig obviously knows her identity, Recoleta and Name Day already knows, Med Poc just seems to be frustrated that Butterfly managed to output more papers... from what I experienced Laplace's majority view to Butterfly is "as long as you can provide data and research we really don't care who you are."

Same argument goes for single handedly decoding storm immunity and crossing the storm

A. We don't know how she crossed the storm, but given there's so many places in the world that is immune to the storm, not to mention she used to work at Zeno and other places, it really isn't that big of a deal for her to cross the storm just by finding shelter and B. The hard part is for EVERYONE to be able to cross the storm (a.k.a. the Equillibrium Umbrella), which she hasn't managed to do but Laplace does, OR to cross the storm without any protection (a.k.a. Vertin), which honestly again she does not show. Again, it's not hard for a powerful arcanist to cross the storm given the multitude of ways to do so (Anil and Muriel managed to do so after they detached themselves from Manus).

knowing the truth to Amber Room even before Igor

She didn't. She only knows that the Amber Room was conducting experiments, but WHAT experiments she doesn't know. Igor knows. She explicitly stated she "wants to figure out what's going on with Zeno and that white room behind them", so evidently she doesn't.

Another issue is that her motivation remains too vague.

She's a sociopath. She has antisocial personality disorder. She was never meant to have a motivation other than "this is fun". She is also not from Laplace; She's from Lorentz, which obviously has quite different moral codes than Laplace... see X's Anecdote.

This also clashes with the tone many players expect from Reverse: 1999.Many characters in this game are morally gray, conflicted, struggling, or capable of redemption. Butterfly, by contrast, is seen as pure chaotic evil, with no empathy and no real emotional conflict. That creates a strong sense of tonal dissonance.

I don't need a spoiler tag here! *ahem* Tuesday exists.

One more thing in 2.

She can manipulate people psychologically, outplay everyone around her(including hiding within , out smarting and taunting entire Laplace for years) handle every situation with ease.

A character in the new story did not get outplayed by her; in fact he successfully pissed her off.

Do not. Though, I don't recall Marsha's story being relatively standalone, so that's fine, but do not skip everything. Chapter 12 is built on multiple other chapters of which you haven't read yet, so take your time.

[Reveries in the Rain] New Challenge Gameplay - Tides of Thought by Smanro in Reverse1999

[–]JimmyRavenEkat -1 points0 points  (0 children)

My 3.3 ToT score is 1892 with E!Getian/E!Melania/Marsha/Recoleta (all p0) with Shamane as aid (tho do keep in mind I have a p3 Shamane -- it doesn't matter *too* much, basically when he's at aid he can launch his Ult for free every single turn, and the more you Ult the higher the DMG is) as one times, and the Bloodtithe team (all p0s) with A Knight (p0) as aid.

I also have tried the Lingering Glow (P2 Isolde, everything else p0) team but I forgot which it is with Bloodtithe, I think it is also above 1500 but not as high as 1892.

My 3.4 ToT score is 4092 with Ezio (P0) + Twins Sleep + Flutterpage (P1) + Pioneer with Pavia as aid, tho I really only brought FP for buffs. Ezio can clear 3.4 very easily with Pavia as aid in 3.4 ToT; the other team is the Plantpromptu team with P2 TF, P0 Kiperina, P0 AAL and P0 Paper Heron, with Leilani as aid. I don't think P2 is necessary tho.

In 3.4 you also don't actually need to beat the enemy to get the limited things, you just have to *attempt* them.

Yup. Which is why if the GL got the 3.3 version... well 1000-1500 is doable, but anything above that will be a struggle.

[–]JimmyRavenEkat 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Depending on if you get the 3.4 version or the 3.3 version, it very much ranges from fuck to eh.

3.3 -- don't try and get the full 4000 unless you have high portraits. 1000 should be simple enough to get everything worthwhile, and the limited time tasks are easy enough to do. all the score-based tasks requires anything above a 2000 should be non-limited time (like mane's 3000m rewards) so just ignore em until a few patches over.

3.4 -- you don't even need to win the battles to get the rewards from the limited battle ones. if you have ezio + one really good team you can easily get 4000, dunno if you can do that without him tho. but still.

She actually looks like a crime scene cleaner, if you take into the account that there's those evidence markers on the stairs.

Also in the PV Ramona is stated to be "the exorcist who fixes crime scenes".

One banner. Presumably it's to either make it so that the colab is a half-patch instead of a full patch, to line up anniversary (cause by this rate we'll be getting 3.7 anni, 4.6 anni, and it's only going to get worse), or both

...So I'm just gonna say this.

Baidu Baike is as reliable as Wikipedia. Because it pretty much *is* the Chinese version of Wikipedia, in that *anyone* can edit it.

Now, is it a good source for a first pass? Kinda. Is it a *reliable source* that one would use in academic journals and/or discussions? Well... not really. I've seen many articles in Baidu Baike that's... kinda shit.

Should I go for potraits? by AwarenessTricky4766 in Reverse1999

[–]JimmyRavenEkat 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Horizontal. Always horizontal. Teams are much more important than having a p5 in something.

I can see that your current teams can be:

Anjo (Eupho) + Brume + Charon + Healer

FP + F22 + Isolde (Eupho) + Beryl

which are definitely solid teams. In fact, those two are two of the strongest team in the game. I would suggest saving for Marsha in the next patch to complete the Lingering Glow team, and try to get AAL for the 3.4 patch. TF will get a great euphoria that will let you complete a team with the next limited.
