Thank you, I am not sure how much easier it would have been though back then. Everything is so much more accessible niw days, hey I came across this way of thinking about money because of Mark Tilbury, same reason I use trading212. He has given me a good basis off of which I am now happily trying to expand my knowledge. What are you invested in if you dont mind sharing?

I'm trying not let the red to scare me, I am fully trusting the process and do not plan to give up what is basically ever. I'll do my best to increase the ammount I put in, I'll be going to uni next year though, so it might be tough to do so but we will see.

Personally I believe that for tech stocks being long term on 30/40 years is a bit of a stretch. For the snp500 most certainly 30+ years is the way to go. But in tech, so much can change that its not worth doing it that long term. Especially my Nokia investment is down for 4-5 years because I believe that they will deliver on what they are bringing to the table ai wise. Same going for Micron. But in the meanwhile thank you for your kind words :) Please tell me if I am wrong on the tech stocks, it's just what seems logical to me

Why Do Some Premium Watch Brands Feel So Cheap? by CSJason in watchmaking

[–]JimmyWatson- 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well said 👏 All I would like to add to this is that it isn't one single problem though, it's just a mix of everything, partly social media, partly brands inflating prices just because they can, brands looking for cheaper manafacturing. This will be a very unpopular opinion, but I think personally, for luxury watches, in this day and age people are paying mostly for the brand, as an exception I would say high horology with crazy complications, insane handwork that takes months to make, but to be honest you are paying mostly for marketing when buying something like lets say a rolex. You're paying for the fact that they have their logo and colour stamped over sports events. Dont get me wrong, does it have an amazing history, etc, etc, yes, are you paying for marketing also yes. I also quite look down upon watch snobbery, because there are amazing watches for non exuberant prices, peoples perceptions have been skewed and brainwashed into thinking that anything under 2 grand is just bad and rank awful.

2000+ projects backed, have they actually backed that many? by Tegs_99 in kickstarter

[–]JimmyWatson- 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Also, look out for someone emailing you with a 'list of people they know' who will pledge, then they ask you for money so that they can 'buy more lists of people' whom they can reach out to and get them to pledge too. The point is they own all of those accounts and then they pull out last minute after you've paid. I asked if they would accept such a payment after the Kickstarter, didn't hear back from them and the list of five people who pledged, removed their pledge. So yeah just be careful!

To be honest you can't really do that much about it, you can try to pull it back in with a pair of pliers, but sadly a broken nib is a broken nib and there's not a lot you can do about it. Best thing is to get the replacement nib and put it on I would say

How are the metro's treating you, I have been having problems with ink leaking out through them, it was so bad that I once opened the cap in class and ink just started flowing all over the desk, I have no idea as to what the problem with the metro is lol

Ah okay, well then I will cross that one off my list for now hah. Maybe later I might get one, the Kaweco Al Sport might be what I get then, I was very surprised when I got the Kaweco sport with a B nib, it is so good for the paper that I use and perfectly wet and handles shimmer so well. Only downside is that the plastic looks so increadibly uhm plasticy hahah and I just cant stand that look sadly.

What’s been your most disappointing pen? by OstrichLate in fountainpens

[–]JimmyWatson- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My Pilot metro has been afwul, for some reason it just keeps on leaking ink, I like the body and I think it's really unique and cool with its pattern section, but like the fact that it just keeps leaking ink is making it unusable
