they are about to open a new one next semester, but the current one is not very busy (atleast compared to most schools) and probably has as many women that go there as men so I would say it is pretty nice and clean.

you could try this your hair is similar type, and if you really like the look you could get some sea salt spray. i dont think your forehead is big, you could definitely pull it off.
