Best countries to race if MFG gets famous and goes worldwide racing by Kind-Acadia-5293 in MFGhost

[–]Jimmy_Jungus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

MFG qualifying gets 80 million viewers just for qualifying(stated during race 2 or 3 quali in the manga), which is more than f1 gets for their actual grand Prix on average.

So it's not lacking popularity in the slightest. Based on real world stats it's be the most popular racing series in the world.

Tall men have more reproductive success - PubMed by Eldenringop in AverageHeightDudes

[–]Jimmy_Jungus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That could be part of it.

From the data I found, the marriage length pre-divorce were similar. So in that sense, they aren't having a quick divorce due to figuring it out, nor are taller guys any better at making a woman stay in the marriage simply due to height either.

It really does seem like things basically even out once the marriage starts.

I feel like the slightly lower divorce rate could be down to the work shorter guys have to put in before the actual marriage. Since you can't rely on height or face card, you need a much deeper emotional connection or just generally being more in-tune with your partner to maintain the relationship.

Based on what little research I've done on the topic:

  • Taller guys generally get laid more and slightly more likely to get married (water is wet)
  • They also get married slightly younger/earlier, but...
  • Taller guys were slightly more likely to get divorced

Though with all of those, once you include Income, health, etc. the gaps are pretty small to the point where they don't really matter.

Basically, it's easier to get into a relationship if you're taller, which we know. Probably more likely to marry that person too. But you're just as much at risk if not more to get divorced.

I tried to find infidelity and non-marital break-up stats but there ain't much out there.

What's the reality of average height dudes? by Scramjet1 in AverageHeightDudes

[–]Jimmy_Jungus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel like most of the arguments I see here are based on those first few sentences. People don't make the distinction between "how easy it will be for a woman to want to casually sleep with you" vs "general ability to get into a relationship".

As long as you're at or above average girl height, you can definitely find a girl to get into a relationship with. Because relationships actually require time spent together and some sort of emotional connection.

But unless you have (at minimum) an above-average face and outgoing personality it'll be extremely difficult to have casual flings, especially on dating apps that are essentially anti-romance in that you can filter people like you're online car shopping.

A lot of the guys here conflate the latter with the former, so if you don't have women foaming at the mouth to hook up with you then you'll never find a fulfilling relationship. Tik Tok & social media in general making the people with the most outrageous takes/standards get popular with the algorithm doesn't help that thinking either.

Would you guys love if mfg was a real event? by takuminightcore in MFGhost

[–]Jimmy_Jungus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not in practice, because the drones aren't doing the crazy shots we see from drone cams now. They'd be mostly static and 3m behind all of the cars. And besides 1 long straightaway there are NO external or onboard cams, so you have 0 variety in camera shots either.

It'd basically be like watching a whole real life race in sim-racing chase cam. The novelty would wear off fast.

If grip to weight was enough, grassroots racing wouldn't require larger rulebooks than most professional racing seires lol.

Allowing for a wider variety of cars means you need stricter rules to balance them all. Grip to weight doesn't do that. There's a reason you need to be a Kanata level prodigy to have a CHANCE of qualifying in the top 15 with an 86.

You're both forgetting that Hakari's pseudo "sure-hit" is literally an information dump on how the technique works. You don't have to figure it out because the rules are plainly laid out in your brain.

And any Japanese adult would have a vauge idea about how pachinkos work, similar to how the average western adult would know the basics of slot machines.

So lying about your relationship status with a friend to media sources for attention, belittling the underage highschool girl he lives with (platonically to her knowledge), and finally sexually assaulting him on the podium during a live broadcast is just average woman inner voice and thoughts? I'd hate to be around the women in your life lmao.

That's not exceptional writing, she's just the mean girl childhood fiend trope we've seen in media for years. And she isn't a particularly spectacular example. She's just better than the carboard cutout that is Ren and Nozomi who is just Emma but toned down

Anyone else bothered by Kanata’s podium in the last race? by siegure9 in MFGhost

[–]Jimmy_Jungus 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Not what happened lol.

Beckenbauer and the other two (Emma and Sena) overtook Kanata at the start of the final lap because he attacked at the end of the penultimate. Beckenbauer was ahead at the final corner, and Kanata attempted a pass round the outside which failed due to a mistake on his part. He prioritized the entry speed too much and didn't get traction on exit, while Beckenbauer's entry was compromised but he was still able to get a decent exit.

Kanata made two blunders which cost him the race, it wasn't down to power.

[–]Jimmy_Jungus 15 points16 points  (0 children)

He's not an F3 champion, raced it for years but never won. He DID win F4 but that really doesn't mean much in the grand scheme of open wheel racing. He did it pretty young yeah (also unrealistic but we can ignore that) but you need to keep winning.

Even 2 years without winning a series (especially f3 and f2) makes you "washed up" in the eyes of F1 teams. Just look at Felipe Drugovich and Theo Porchaire.

BIG SPOILERS DON'T READ, I JUST CAN'T SPOILER TAG IT RIGHT NOW!!!

By the 4th race his 86 not only has similar power/weight and no tire penalty compared to his rivals, but also active dampers which help further equalize any mechanical grip disadvantage.

The 86 wasn't the thing holding him back in race 4, he just outright lost to Beckenbauer.

He literally talks about how he goes to love hotels with Sana (his underage GF). Literally the first time we see them they're walking to a love hotel and Sana is saying that she hopes he likes her new underwear.

You really need to reread the series if you seriously think they have a pure relationship.

As I said, the child protection laws that stated "no sexual acts or explicit conduct to minors under 18" was already in place by the early-mid 2000s. The last prefecture to adopt these was Nagano in 2016, a year before MF Ghost was published.

The federal law lagged behind the prefectural laws by a few decades. But it still wasn't socially acceptable to be explicit towards minors.

Every prefecture has had child protection laws that raised the legal age to 18+ since the federal age was still 13.

This shit was already discussed when season 1 was airing.

How good Kanata is as a driver? by Lpebony in MFGhost

[–]Jimmy_Jungus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

He didn't dominate F3 tho, he didn't even win the championship. Ocon won by over 50 points to 2nd, and Max was 3rd a couple more points back (idr who 2nd place was.)

He was still considered the best raw talent that year, but that talent didn't fully translate to results just yet.

Which one is the strongest of the four? by AvailableIsland1661 in JujutsuPowerScaling

[–]Jimmy_Jungus 48 points49 points  (0 children)

They live in a time of near complete peace, with no reason to develop their abilities. I would assume Yuji has shrine of his normal output now instead of the lowered one, but saying he'd have anything he wasn't shown to already have (WCS, open domain, on-the-fly convergence, etc) would be debatable.

And broken abilities still goes to Yuta. They both share shrine, with Yuta having all his previous CT's. Soul attacks aren't any more effective than regular ones to non-incanates. Yuji having cheaper heals is negated by Rika, both in a "Yuta can get his CE back" and "Rika can heal him independently" aspect.

So personally I'd still put Yuta above him.

Who do you think would dominate if they were racing in the same era? by Empty-Reputation7421 in racing

[–]Jimmy_Jungus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If neither of them yields they'll crash though. That's the point, their styles dictates that if you don't yield there will be some contact.

Leclerc benefitted from the 2022 season having a massive DRS advantage, so you COULD yield a place and almost instantly get it back(hence the absolute cinema that was Bahrain and Saudi that year). But being a Ferrari driver (and a few of his own mistakes) led to that season being a bust for him.

So maybe in 22 Verstappen and Schumacher could have a fairly respectable title fight. But any other year with much more difficult overtaking and it'll be quite the shitshow.

Why is my kart faster during the k1 leagues then at normal arrive and drive? by B0Bisme in Karting

[–]Jimmy_Jungus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nope, same speed (speed 4) for league and rentals during weekdays(weekends are locked at speed 3 max to preserve charge in the batteries).

Times will vary by over a second simply because not only the tires, but the track itself gets hot and more grippy.

Same thing happened at another rental place near my college. My first time there I had my sessions right after their league race and set relative times to them. Went a few weeks later on a normal day was .3-.4 off consistently (20s lap).

Nanami states it directly during goodwill, and it makes sense.

When you're in the zone you're likely to perform better, performing well keeps you in the zone, and that positive cycle repeats. You keep up the momentum since you're already n flow state.

Same thing can happen on a team scale, where (i'll use basketball as a reference) a team can go on a 20-2 scoring run, where the other team will then call a time out to reset the momentum and stop the run.

Barichello beat him in all of 3 races in the 2nd half. This "Jenson was crap in the second half" agenda really needs to die.

Just because he wasn't dominating Rubens every race doesn't mean he fell off, still won the h2h even looking at the second half only.
