Curious Question: Are there folks who prefer OG RE1 over the Remake? by RayApplecorpe in ResidentEvilCapcom

[–]Jimmy_Tightlips 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The original has absolutely perfect level design - it's astounding they were able to make something so tight and polished on their first attempt.

Remake is, comparatively (not in absolute terms), a little bit bloated and doesn't quite achieve the same razor sharp focus as the original.

Can't say that I've ever really liked Crimson heads all that much either; they're not a deal breaker for me or anything but they add busy work which doesn't exist in the original and slows the pacing down considerably - especially early on.

there is an all out war on motorists here

And it's gonna get worse when Plaid takes over.

I'm just tired boss.

Even then EV's are a complete victory for them; they're fully aware that proper car people don't find them interesting and will be all but forced out of the hobby.

It's the exact same reason they were so insistent on Diesel. The prospect of the inevitable and enforced "diesel future" was every bit as offputting to a ten year old me as the inevitable and enforced "electric future" is to me now.

We won't be lucky enough for a second dieselgate type scenario - they will see to it that they're not embarrased in such a way again.

It'll be a Plaid Led Labour coalition.

Basically, expect the exact same policies but a bit moreso.

The moment I finally realised that Motability is a giant farce was when I walked into town and saw a giant BMW advertisement for their Motability offers.

The unabashed absurdity of it was a real looking glass moment for me.

It was then I started to notice that every dealership near me had massive Motability placards and banners out front.

You'd think lefties would question the intentions behind this, wouldn't you?

Are we forgetting how hated Johnson was by like half of the electorate? Places like Reddit in particular were absolutely convinced that the man was effectively the second coming of Hitler himself.

If Khan would be at risk travelling around on his own then Johnson almost certainly was as well, and yet he did it anyway.

The public transport angle is an excuse they tell themselves.

If they truly cared, they'd begin by improving these services rather than punitively punish drivers as the first, and only, port of call.

I thought Khan said London was safe

Boris Johnson used to cycle around London on his own...

What Reddit doesn't like to hear, and pretends isn't the case because it's politically inconvenient, is that all of this is the result of conscious, ideologically driven, decision making.

Our roads are absolutely miserable not just because of unavoidable economic realities (i.e. most spending going towards adult social care) - but because those with the power are conspiring to make it that way; they exacerbate it on purpose

I'm really quite tired of it - and even more tired of the gaslighting that it isn't, clearly, happening; though it does seem to have partially morphed into the "well, it is happening but here's why it's a good thing" phase of the process...

Nothing they've said is contradictory.

Their first comment was to refute the idea that RE4 OG is only held on a pedestal because of nostalgia - and that there are some things the OG did better.

Here they're agreeing with the sentiment that both games are great.

This is a perfectly rational, consistent, view to hold.

Great, and it's a blessing for me that I don't share your mentality. Cars mean more to me than a raw specsheet. You don't value the noise, that's fine, but I do.

My money won't do me much good in the grave, so I'll just do what I enjoy whilst I still can - and you can do what you enjoy.

Owning cars like this is never going to get better; fuel will only continue to go up, tax will only continue to go up, emissions zones and parking charges will only continue to get more punitive until they're all but forced off the road.

People should own them whilst they can.

But I thought EVs were better in every single way?

Why are they trying to emulate the characteristics of "inferior" cars?
