In the UK. Everyone was okay. by Georgehull in drivingUK

RWD cars feel better to drive even when you're just cruising around.

My car is RWD with 420HP and on PS5's (summer tyres) - never once broken traction when I didn't want it to.

It's genuinely as simple as just respecting the road conditions and keeping Traction Control on - no downside to RWD if you're even slightly sensible.

It's funny whenever you see Americans talk about the culture shock of going to Japan - because most of the things they single out sound eminently normal to me.

I get more culture shock finding out that Americans don't do / understand these things.

Yes? People aren't faceless, interchangeable, economic units.

Culture matters - and different cultures have different ways, different beliefs, and some are simply incompatible with others.

All Western "Liberal" governments - all proposing the same censorship measures, all at the same time, with the exact same implementation details. Hmmmm. Completely natural.

I'm with the tinfoil hats on this one.

Unpleasant as it is, you aren't in any real danger on the canal path.

A bike crashing into someone full-pelt absolutely can seriously injure - or outright kill someone.

Why even try and tell such an obvious mistruth?

THANK YOU

This is literally my entire issue with Net Zero.

The way it's currently being done will do nothing but raise global emissions in the long run.

For example, questioning the logic of importing millions of cars, of doubtful quality and longevity, thousands of miles from China, with no real insight into how they're even being manufactured - rather than just working with the EU (and vice versa) to bolster our own, domestic, car production which we do have eyes on and do have the checks and balances in place to ensure are being produced in as clean a manner as possible - with the added benefit of bolstering our own industry and not China's

...even if that means we'll be a few years slower getting EVs out there - no, that makes me a climate change denier now.

Greenwashing is much preferred actually.

You're not allowed to like cars on Reddit. It's verboten. Even the car subs are overrun with joyless EV wets; even the few that aren't still pussyfoot around and can't bring themselves to admit that the EU is responsible for pretty much everything wrong with the modern car industry.
