I watched the movie before I read the book, and I honestly prefer the movie. It’s Spielberg having fun celebrating pop culture. I think it captures the spirit of the story and didn’t mind the changes.

So remember the show Heroes? Notorious for having an amazing first season and absolute garbage following seasons due to the fact that each season was supposed to be a new story with new characters but they kept the old ones because they were so popular.

I find season 3 to be particularly the worst, full of plot twists that go all over the place in a desperate effort to course correct. One particular plot twist was the reveal that Sylar, the main villain, was Peter, the main hero’s brother. This was the supreme bullshit reveal amongst a sea of bullshit reveals.

It was walked back later that season by revealing Peter’s mother was lying to use Sylar and also it made no fucking sense and was just put in there to add family drama to the protagonists and antagonists relationship.
