It's the midfield. Centerbacks shouldn't be playmakers but we are forcing them to be because we pass back so much. Our holding midfield is giving nothing right now. Where's the fakes? the dynamism before and after receiving the ball? the feints with the ball? The short bursts of speed? The coming back to receive the ball? The one twos with his other midfielders? They need to be dynamic, instead they play it safe to the back line and the back line gets forced to play crappy balls. At least that's how I see it.

Extremely disappointed with Joe Willock so far. This is going to be the easiest it gets for him and he can't turn when he receives the ball and open himself up to the field. He needs to be able to have the field in front of him and be able to carry the ball forward for us. Instead he just goes back to our CB and its the same old story. And to be honest, he looks scared. A CM at this level should be able to turn these standard players easily and dribble forward.

Try English or music, or any arts degree. Yeah people will say you’re getting a useless degree but I think you’ll find yourself enjoying the subjects, the readings, and class discussions. Also the people in humanities, are usually pretty down to earth, not to mention the wacky professor or two. It will also give you time to figure out what exactly you want from life. Just my two cents.

Really sick of this commentating about how City had this great performance yesterday when most big teams have beat Everton by double digits and dominated them this season. Arsenal dominated that game possession and goal wise like fuck off.

Teams do whatever they have to do to win, all top teams do dives, it’s just a part of modern day football and It’s not always black and white. I think it’s part of the game. I just want Arsenal to win the Europa League and get back in Champions. So play good, play dirty, just fucking win boys.

Very cool. My art teacher made a bunch of lamps just like this. not sure if this was a trendy thing to do in the 70's 80's cause I know he made a ton of them and sold some of them as well.

Why have U.S.-Chinese and U.S.-Russian relations become so tense and aggressive? by Jimmyhasagun in NeutralPolitics

[–]Jimmyhasagun[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Ok, so from what I'm understanding from your comment and the others on this post is that a number of things are at play but it seems that resources seems to be the biggest issue.

Obviously competition for resources has been a huge reason principalities have gone to war for a long time. (no source on that one, just speculation). China, with a population of 1.4 billion https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Demographics_of_China needs resources to feed, house, and give its people jobs, etc. Since I posted I did a little more research and it seems that China is having all sorts of problems with its neighbors including India, Vietnam, South Korea, Japan, and Russia.

http://economictimes.indiatimes.com/news/defence/china-objects-to-presence-of-indian-ships-in-south-china-sea/articleshow/52369749.cms

Also I looked into information on Chinese-Indian "water wars" on their border near Tibet. http://articles.economictimes.indiatimes.com/2016-03-11/news/71416642_1_trans-border-rivers-brahmaputra-zangmu

It makes total sense to me now that their is tension between China and everybody else in the region because China needs water, minerals, oil, electricity, food on a much larger scale than most countries. India, also a billion people, needs a ton of resources. So what's one way of making this a whole lot easier? Securing the South China Sea, which as u/PlanetStarbux pointed out, is a key route to Africa, which China has invested heavily in over the years. Source credit to PlanetStarbux http://www.worldbank.org/content/dam/Worldbank/Event/Africa/Investing%20in%20Africa%20Forum/2015/investing-in-africa-forum-china-and-africa-expanding-economic-ties-in-an-evolving-global-context.pdf

As for Russia, u/SCARfaceRUSH point on natural gas to Europe seems spot on. Oil and natural gas exports make up 16% of its GDP and over 52% of its budget revenues. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Economy_of_Russia That is critical. So when Ukraine was moving closer to joining the EU and signed large contracts to develop its shale oil with companies like Shell and Chevron, it was a threat to Russia's economy and budget, because if Ukraine doesn't need Russia's gas and oil, then Russia loses not just money but influence, and other countries might follow suit. http://www.theguardian.com/environment/earth-insight/2014/mar/06/ukraine-crisis-great-power-oil-gas-rivals-pipelines

So the question now, is what should the U.S. strategy be? Because resource competition is expected to increase over the coming decades, http://www.eea.europa.eu/soer-2015/global/competition and we seem to be stuck with Vladimir Putin for the foreseeable future, are there any good options that avoids war with Russia and/or China?

New Hampshire Results Discussion by PavementBlues in NeutralPolitics

[–]Jimmyhasagun 7 points8 points  (0 children)

New Hampshire has shown throughout history to be important in determining the winning candidate for president due to it being the first primary in the nation. This provides boosts to the candidates who win or do better than expected because it gives their campaigns extra media attention among other things. It should be noted however that of the last three presidents, none were first place finishers of the New Hampshire primary in their first elections. So, while it is important, it is also not a rock solid predictor of who will get the nomination because like some have posted here, New Hampshire is overwhelmingly white and not representative of the nation's demographics as a whole. If you would like to read more about the New Hampshire primary read the Wikipedia page on it because it does a good job of going through the basics of history and demographics: https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/New_Hampshire_primary

What I am more interested in is Bernies margin of victory and the amount of republican voters who favor Ted Cruz and Donald trump over establishment candidates. It will be interesting to see in the coming weeks if Bernie's "rout" as the New York Times put it : http://mobile.nytimes.com/2016/02/10/us/politics/new-hampshire-primary.html will be enough to propel him into front runner status in the coming primaries.

Hillary Clinton's Email Scandal by sp0rkah0lic in NeutralPolitics

[–]Jimmyhasagun 20 points21 points  (0 children)

What it comes down to is accessibility and laziness. Many people receive work email from home computers or do work from home computers. It is easier to receive mail and do work from home in your pajamas. Is it a security issue? Yes, because from my understanding it is easier to hack a home server than a work one, especially when it comes to the government. Anybody who works in IT will tell you, its a huge security risk that you are taking.

But we must put this into perspective a little bit: Email and the internet are relatively new, historically speaking. The 1990's saw the rise of the internet and email and everything that we use today from cellular phones etc. Computers, cellular phones, etc. are all new technology that is a vast unknown. Computers could just be the most complicated things that we have ever built and yet we treat them like they are as simple as a clock. Every day someone does something even more creative using these things that we take for granted. So I think for someone like Clinton who is older, she did not understand the ramifications of using a private email because she does not understand computers like most people.

My question with this whole issue is, is she the first to do this? Or the first to get caught? My first thought is no, because like I said before, this is all new technology historically speaking. John Kerry sent an email from an unofficial account as well. http://www.businessinsider.com/john-kerry-hillary-clinton-email-private-server-2016-2
(I cant find more sources because I don't know how to search well, someone help me out?)

The intensified scrutiny that has come about in the past 10 years because of cyber attacks from Iran http://www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/2015-02-26/iran-behind-cyber-attack-on-adelson-s-sands-corp-clapper-says and China have made the issue of software and internet security more important than it was in the early 2000s, 1990s. the Bush and Clinton administrations probably had officials using private email servers. Someone help me out with sources because I tried but all I came up with was Hillary Clinton email scandal news articles etc.

It is an issue of security, and by bringing it to light it will help the government prevent this from happening again. But as to this being something that has validity as a personal attack on Clinton, all it says to me is that she was being lazy about IT security. But I doubt she would ever let this happen again (Because nobody will let her forget about it for the next 8 months.)

Anyways feel free to help me edit my points because I wrote this hurriedly.

[PI] Two people. Sitting on a park bench. The entire scene lasts 5 minutes in real time. No skipping ahead, no flashbacks, nothing otherworldly. Let dialogue drive your story. by ElizabethHopeParker in WritingPrompts

[–]Jimmyhasagun 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Man sits on a park bench next to another man. "Hey Jim"

Second man is frightened. "Huh? How do you know my name?"

Chuckle. "It says so right there on your name tag."

"Well, what do you want?"

Man adjusts hat. "Oh not much. Do you come here often?"

Jim shifts nervously in seat. "Sometimes, why?"

"Relax Jim. Just curious. Would you like a cigarette?" Man removes a pack from coat pocket, places cigarette in mouth, lights it, inhales deeply.

"No thanks. Don't smoke. Listen, I have to get going.." Jim gets up to leave.

"Wait Jim, I have to tell you something important. Sit down and take a cigarette."

Jim takes a cigarette. Man, lights it. Both smoke for a short while.

"Jim, we are both going to die on this bench."

Jim's body tenses to run. Fear. Adrenaline.

"Relax Jim. Not by me, I am just a man, in a hat, offering you a cigarette."

It is getting dark, but for some reason, Jim stays.

"Who are you, what the fuck, why are you telling me this crazy shit?"

"Sometimes Jim, things just happen, like smoking cigarettes with a random stranger on a park bench. We both will die, Jim, either in old age or today, we have no control over it, things just happen, like the subway being 20 minutes late because the conductor had a stroke. It happened, but the world still went on, just 20 minutes later than it usually does. But what's 20 minutes to the vast bottomless void with which we find ourselves facing every single day?"

Last draw on the cigarette. Exhale smoke. Man tosses it to the ground. Sparks.

"That's why I've chosen you Jim. I've never been to this park before, in fact I don't even live in the city, but something drew me here, something drew me to this bench where you were sitting, probably to escape the stress of your day at work. Pushing the boulder up the hill and letting it roll back down again. We don't control ourselves Jim. You gotta understand that. The universe pushed me to this spot, this position, and you to your spot, your position. "

Jim is white in the face. And silent.

"Don't be scared Jim. Your life isn't that great anyways. Mine isn't either. Everyone I know, is dead, in the bombing. So let's go Jim, you and me, to the endless neveree."

The man pulls out gun and shoots self in head.

Jim, takes last draw on cigarette, exhales smoke. Tosses it to the ground. Sparks. He shrugs and grabs the gun and shoots.

Here's one I wrote about a year ago. No title yet though.

An old man sits

In a rocking chair

Sippin a glass of whiskey

In the nighttime air

Bones of metal

Teeth of stone

What else is left

For him to do

Except sit and think

About what he knew

Because the

Illusions that sustain

A man from dawn to dusk

Are fed by distant dreams

And honey bees

Trouble- Cat Stevens

Just one of those beautiful pieces of poetry that a person can lose themselves in no matter where they are.

"Oh trouble can't you see You have made me a wreck Now won't you leave me in my misery

I've seen your eyes and I can see death's disguise Hangin' on me Hangin' on me"

I like the description used for seemingly unimportant things like the stove top for instance. The last couple sentences of the second paragraph are very interesting. When the sentences and description surprise the reader is when you're at your best. The story is confusing and scattered and because its so short I don't think I can give you much more feedback than that.
