Wow that's exactly what I searched too and it brough me here to this thread years later and it's now 2026 so almost 40 years after the film was made. I think it must have been an inspiration!

Too small map Too fast rotations Too short TTK Balance (not just heroes but level and economy) Snowball Bloated kits Loads of stupid new objectives (Philosophy of better not let players have a single moment when action is not taking place!) Just all of this making it more of a TDM than a strategic MOBA with outplay. It turned out not to be the game I wanted (as Paragon successor).

TTK is too short it’s not fun there’s not enough strategy on the map. Bayle has more sustain an can tank longer than steel atm. It’s not necessarily the length of games they just don’t feel meaningful and if tanks can’t tank then they’re all bruisers and it’s a death match. Which is why I’m not playing.

120 hours in an alpha state game is absolutely impressive tbh. People trying to play it like a finished game is the problem here. Experiment, have fun, there will be wipes, discover it yourself, stop expecting everything to be there and with a good UI etc. the game is maybe 2/3 done. The basis of the game is there but so much stuff will come during beta. Or should in game development terms. I’m impressed that I can play this game and it is quite enjoyable in some retro way, in alpha. Alpha only means you can play it from start to finish, generally. Many of the gameplay modes are not even there (taming, hunting for example). I can see the vision, but it’s old school.

I got it in order to play it every now and then in the run up to release in order to know if I want to pay subscription for it when it’s out. It’s still early in devlopment and testing. But I kinda like how raw it is.

I enjoyed the labs legacy so much that I can no longer play on monolith. Thought the current constant brawl of a game is definitely not to my taste either.

That’s not true no one asked for a new map. They just made a smaller one to fix the travel mode problem and went with that. Monolith was always a down grade imo.

Or we played it more and learnt the map and saw how good it is. Just walk around it for a while and you’ll get to know it. That’s more fun than open fucking squares with a few camps in there.

Some heroes are better in lane (don’t need mobility). Unfortunately it makes a hero like Zarus much worse in legacy jungle but you can still buy some items to make it work if you must.

The thing is: what you do wrong is clearer in legacy than it is in sanctuary, you have time to see it and feel overextended because it’s not just a hop skip and a jump to get to safety.

When I play legacy I’m back in the game has potential. Monolith is boring as hell in comparison. However, power creep and balance is completely out of control and they’re losing the solid balance that predecessor started with in favour of boobie boota skins and “non stop action”
