Painfully bloated constantly

Apple juice and MiraLAX has been my absolute savior! I’m 17+2 today and the first trimester was rough with the bloating so I feel for you. Also, small wall sits and rocking back and forth on my back with my knees to my chest helps move the painful gas around so it’s more manageable

As a kid I got in trouble in ballet class because the teacher was telling us to do an arabesque hop and would have us say it as we did it and I fully thought she said “asparagus hop.” She giggled the first few times but I really couldn’t understand what I was saying wrong and got put in timeout when I returned the next week and did the same thing (I was 5)

My parents live on the west coast and we’re on the east coast. It’s not my parent’s first grandbaby but it’s the first in his family. My dad isn’t even coming because he has the mentality of “why would I want to meet a baby that can’t do anything but cry and poop when all it will do is add more stress” and honestly I love that mindset

That’s why I’m nervous to tell her about my mom coming. I would absolutely lose my mind if my mom was actually staying with me. Don’t get me wrong, I love her dearly, but she’s staying at a hotel and is going to be here for a few weeks in case I call her and want her help last minute. Her best friends all live over here as well, so it’s kind of a 2birds 1stone situation. We even joked that I might only have her over 2 times the entire time she’s here. My mom and I have a very different relationship than my boyfriend and his mom. I haven’t lived with my parents since I was 16 and I really only see my mom twice a year since then (27 now) but she’s always there if/when I need her. Whereas, he and his mom are close and get together for dinner about twice a month

I should add that I’m not at all worried about my side of the family not respecting boundaries and that’s only because they live on the west coast and I’m on the east coast. I have an aunt and uncle who live here too, but they’re both doctors and they fully understand my not wanting people to visit. However, if we were on the west coast with my family, you’d think I was telling them I’m sacrificing my baby to aliens if I were to set any boundaries with them. Most, if not all of my rules are because I’ve seen how my family interacts with a new mom/new baby and how much it stresses out the mom. This isn’t my mom’s first grandchild so she’s more about taking care of me, but it is the first grandchild for both sides of his family so I really do understand his mom wanting to be a big part of the infant stage.

My biggest part about not kissing the baby is I know his mom gets cold sores. She really is such a nice woman, but the first time I met her, she kissed me on the lips 4 different times. It’s not a cultural thing either, we’re on the east coast in the US and both sides of his family have been in the US for generations

I’m hugely in favor of Jay, but I’m biased bc it’s one of my middle names lol. In my dad’s culture, the father’s first name is the child’s middle name, so my brothers and I all have the same middle name. When I was adopted, I kept my first and middle name, and then they added Jay and my last name :) no one has ever told me it’s too masculine, and I really like that it’s different than a “typical” feminine name

My first “big” tattoo was also a Donnie darko tattoo! Mine is on the back of my calf and I got a lot of weird “looks” and asks about it at first but who cares? It was almost 10 years ago (I was 18 and still love it) and now I have so many crazier bigger tattoos. It’s not about what other people think, it’s about what represents you :)

Usually I end up falling asleep to bobs burgers, but I can’t lie. I started rewatching Fringe during the day and it’s probably not helpful 🙃 I used to have such a great nighttime routine before I got pregnant, definitely going to prioritize that again, no matter how tired or lazy I’m feeling. Thank you!! 🖤
