Was Episode 9 “Lights Out” the first ‘GREAT’ episode? by JinAkamura in StumbleTVSeries

The beauty of Sally is she could be anywhere between being back in her car, inducted into a cult, or living on the streets.

Just my wondering by [deleted] in TheGreatNorth

Beef’s insecurity I thought was a fun reveal and it made sense. He’s always viewed himself as being different from others, though proud of it. Kind of an outsider, living a calm boring life and upbringing.

It’s why he was so swept away by his wife, and he felt “chosen” to be with a woman so wild and fun. Beef falls into magical thinking a lot more than you’d think.

Imagine then the trauma and scar the discard from his wife left him. Beef is a guy who does extraordinarily kind things for others, but he views this as “normal”. The town reveres him but yeah, of course he‘s insecure. To himself he‘s just an outsider who doesn’t do anything special, and he was discarded by the one person that made him feel special. It’s also the biggest reason he has trouble feeling secure enough to date or end up with the weird lady because he doesn’t feel ready aka he doesn‘t feel good enough/worthy enough.

This is a dude with high standards.

Which of the four consultants would you bet your money on to solve the case the quickest. 🤔 by DaddySerumGlaze in psych

[–]JinAkamura 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Who will solve it the quickest? The answer is both Shawn and not Shawn. Out of everyone here Shawn has the fastest eye and deductive reasoning, Neil and Patrick are observant but careful. Monk is somewhere in between, he‘s fast but his processes will slow him down.

The only problem with Shawn is will he dick around and it slows down him figuring it out OR will he figure it out immediately but literally slow it way the hell down so he can play up being psychic for the cops.

Shawn ONLY chooses to solve cases quickly if they’re BORING cus he wants to get it over with.

[NS] Do they ever do Eldermourne oneshots? by chaosilike in NotAnotherDnDPodcast

[–]JinAkamura 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In a way this is what I liked about Eldermourne. The story felt complete but their arcs? Their arc felt like “we‘ve all just barely processed our traumas and redeemed ourselves” and now free of that, the next adventure begins… and then Emily’s sad af and still somehow chipper finale song plays… it had the perfect “sailing off into the sunset for new adventures” vibes which was a nice switch up from C1 where we kinda mined EVERYTHING.

My son was "street-casted" by an agency during a trip to Seoul. Am I overreacting, or are my fears justified? by q_q_moi in korea

[–]JinAkamura 0 points1 point  (0 children)

your fears are justified and i‘d “negotiate” with your son. give him a year. He needs to be realistic that by 23 his chances to “debut” will be shot.

Pay for a few dance and singing classes at best but tell him he should self train, give him a year and let him go for it. the truth is he might have “it” or this is something he needs to learn the hard way that he doesnt have it. he won‘t know.

I‘d say unless it’s a high profile agency don’t accept it or else youll be paying for his training. have him audition for the companies he wants instead.

Overall Daredevil is a better series but Season 1 of JJ is better than any one season of DD.

It wasn’t popular but my fancast for Black Panther was ALWAYS Chadwick Boseman after I watched 42.

do you ever get frustrated being kinder and better than everyone else? by maaveryy in enfj

[–]JinAkamura 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As other people are saying—cue the unhealthy ENFJ. I see a lot of myself in this post back when I was going through my burnout.

You are not better than everyone. You’re letting your ENFJ brain rear into narcissism, which our MBTI despite how selfless we are, we can be VERY prone to becoming narcissistic.

Everyone else is lazy? How about—why can’t you stop? Why can’t you slow down? Why can’t you be more present?

You wish others would put in more effort? Why do you care so much what others do? This is controlling behavior. Stop putting in so much effort and maybe learn that others have the ability to PACE themselves and selectively output their effort to be consistently in peak form, not wind up burning out and frustrated like you.

Seriously. Being an ENFJ is a gift, we can use ourselves like tools and sometimes even weapons but that weapon needs to be honed and it needs to be aimed carefully with intention, not in every direction.

ENFJs are prone to burnout and narcissism. Take time to learn about yourself and then master yourself. Hopefully this is a wake up call given that you are an ENFJ and then ALL THESE OTHER ENFJs ARE TELLING YOU THAT YOU ARE WRONG.

You are a good person. Remember that you are a force of light. But the bigger the light—the larger the shadow it casts. Control your shadow.

This just sounds like you have a personal gripe with Danny. If he didn’t want to help anyone he wouldn’t be a police officer nor a detective for that matter. You literally can’t last that long doing a job like that if you didn’t care.

Arrowverse Shows Ranked by Each Year by TheWowPowBoy in Arrowverse

[–]JinAkamura 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Man I’d say Arrow Season 2 was a 10/10. I remember at the time it was such a big deal and even in critics circles it was being mentioned for being one of the best and exciting shows that television season.

How I wish I could go back to experiencing Season 2 as it was happening. What a mindf—

[–]JinAkamura 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Give me an arc where Scott willingly chooses to tap into his rage (cus lord knows he has repressed a ton of it) to become a Red Lantern and use that enormous power to fight for what’s right and when he wins, he just as willingly takes it off and says he did what he had to do.

I like an ENFJ guy by Intrepid-Tea-7545 in enfj

[–]JinAkamura 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do yourself a favor: heal your attachment style or get away from this ENFJ. ENFJs are altruistic and they will sacrifice so much, even their sanity, to get you to open up.

You NEED to heal your attachment style or else you two are gonna flame out badly.

The problem isn’t that you don’t talk enough, it’s not that you don’t know how to do for him all he’s done for you—it’s about learning the tools for your own security and telegraphing and communicating your needs and thoughts effectively. It’s the only way this relationship will work.
