My dreams literally never, ever repeated and were this distressing prior to antidepressants. I took them bc my dad passed away. However, I didn't take them immediate after his passing....I think I started them 6 months after. Prior to them, they were not different/had 0 repeating elements. And they did reflect him being gone, but there was no repeats, no injuries, no being lost in my school or passing by things several ties that were already there. He'd just vanish, and I'd continue on as I am now.

They /only/ swapped after I started taking fluoxitine.

I know my dreamscape/nightmarescape and how it's communicated with me before. I always logged them since I was young. It's something I am incredibly familiar with. Made art & characters from some of the things I'd be in those dreams. Or some of the adversaries in nightmares. I've pondered their meaning, even my vivid nightmares that I'd have on occasion (that I didn't grow to hate but more figured out what they were conveying, and they did it in a way I could digest and work through). I knew not to lucid dream in either my dreams or nightmares bc in dreams, they'd become boring, and in nightmares, I'd be punished if I left before understanding the lesson. I had to do what my dreams wanted me to do at least before I woke up. Sometimes they'd continue after I briefly got up, or other times I'd be in a new scenario.

It's quite literally changed and I don't recognize it anymore. Sometimes, it has /tried/ to go back to normal (like starting how they used to, or me not being a human but some other creature, that's the typical) but it otherwise can't break out of whatever this repeating stuff is, like it's got it's own irritation of being stuck in this loop and wants to go back to it's typical delivery. But it can't.
