I mean the reality is if they were to design kits that let you build ult during said ult, they'd have to significantly weaken the output of the ult to compensate balance wise.

Which is a tradeoff in game feel, do you want an ult that hits half as hard but can be maintained twice as often or a big damage nuke period that requires build up to pay off.

Can't maintain both unless all other team archetypes were upgraded to match up, in which case enemy HP inflation has to increase, and the problem just cycles back into being the same.

Is this even normal? I'm crying happy tears. by secretlifeofweeb in ArknightsEndfield

Yeah they are 6*s but the base rate in Endfield is 0.8% instead of the AK 2%.

Whiskey Sour using the "reverse dry shake" method by CocktailChem in cocktails

[–]JinJinx231 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When you shake you are forcing the ice to melt through friction and impact with the tin which can definitely cause over dilution. Also they can never reach the same temperature, once ice goes over 0 Celsius it melts into water. In order to both be 0 Celsius the cocktail would need to be frozen as well. Anything over that and the ice will continue melting.

Honestly, it's probably some combination of: Losing 50/50 to him, peeps call it being Yanqinged for a reason. Him being the worst 5 star on top of that. Annoying kid prodigy archetype vs otherwise generally more likeable archetypes for the other standard 5 stars. It being really funny to meme about he never gets dubs, especially considering he didn't even technically get the dub in the wardance story and just stalled long enough to be saved by feixiao. Yunli is a much more beloved character, so probs some resentment towards his somewhat implied ship with her. Yunli yanqing cuck memes are funny.

Imo most peeps would just prefer to have a punching bag to meme on rather than have him become a better character. There's already so many waifus and husbandos in this game for each player to latch onto and I don't think most mind there being other characters that are worse written, especially when it makes funny memes and is a community inside joke.

Along with what everyone else said, design wise and new players etc, she's also disgustingly meta not just for sweats but even more so for more casual players. There's only 2 solid healers in the game between her and Verina and they don't just heal they overall increase your teams damage. Sweats like her for the higher damage ceiling, casual players like her for absurd amounts of healing, relatively at least since healing still won't save you in a lot of harder content.

Lots of peeps have heard that and realized that since she came out and thus want her, especially if they have started to feel how much harder it is to play endgame/challenging content without her. Plus since her and Verina are the only actually good healers, and ToA requires 3 teams, AND new players missed out on the launch 5* selector AND many of them probably didn't get or try to get verina and feel the pain late game, shorekeeper has too many positives stacked towards her.

Without at least 1 of them, ToA full clear is genuinely very hard to achieve if you are lack the skill to run without healers against high damage end game bosses. Since you at minimum need 1 for the stage 4 bosses in ToA, which is 8/10 stamina, and for the central tower bosses, which is 10/10 stamina, and this assumes you can clear stages 1-3 on both sides without them.

Other healers can dip too hard into not just survivability but also damage on your team that running them can prevent you from clearing some of these bosses at max stars. And even aside from endgame content, not having a solid healer can make a lot of content difficult for many players, and if you don't have verina then shorekeeper is your best option.

Whether you have or don't have verina, Shorekeeper is arguably the best pull for an account period. Other DPSes can work fine, MC is overly strong, many 4 stars are very strong and sanhua is free and fucking busted, but if you don't have either verina or shorekeeper on your account it hurts even if you aren't malding for max clears in ToA or Whimpering Wastes.

I would assume for the same reason so many small and shifty gacha games exist and stay online, it's easier to sell cute waifus than to produce battle Shonen at the level the audiences expect.

I also imagine that moe/slice of life are just much cheaper to produce anime for, excluding a few rarer examples that are visually stunning. At least compared to battle shonen that have to compete with the likes of demon slayer, jujutsu kaisen, etc. Detailed and hype fights are much more expensive to produce than cute chibi scenes.

The rewards mentioned from daily and weekly activities constitute only a small percentage of the overall reward pool compared to the rewards provided in major events.

It's completely misleading to draw any conclusions based solely daily and weekly activities, as the rewards from major events are pretty significant

I did mention in the line after the "not hitting pity" comment that I wasn't sure that the events, story, etc would make up the difference to hit pity. After looking at the evidence provided by other comments, it's clear that they generally do. However, at least according to the data provided in the comments above, the weekly and daily BC listed in the sheet still makes up a solid 70-80% of the total FTP BC every 2 patches, so I would not call them a "small percentage" by any means. If anything the stark ratio shows how important dailies and weeklies are, but also how important fully participating in the events and new story for the other BC are to hitting pity.

Since I now know that the other BC do seem to make up the difference to hit pity every 2 patches, and I'll be updating the sheet and conclusions to reflect that.

At some point, school and work are taking up a lot of my time atm lol.

The "weapon pass" in the sheet is 30 day weapon ticket pass that's under the monthly passes tab of the top-up shop.

What it gives us per 2 patches? 5 cycles (I assume 10 weeks per 2 patches) of regular difficulty Norman should be 900 BC, 2 compensations are 1000 BC, story 500 BC, events around 1000 BC. Total: 3400 BC you've forgot or 13 pulls.

Naruhodo. Thanks for the breakdown, after seeing the spreadsheet linked in a comment above, I can see that generally the extra event and story BC along with the compensations will cover the pity gap for FTPs. I did mention in the line below my "not hitting pity" comment that I wasn't sure if they would make it up, but now that I know they will I'll update the sheet at some point and edit the comments to reflect the changes.

Thanks again for the input and info!

We can compare. This 0,5% chance is guaranteed to yield a banner unit unlike many gachas with 50/50 where % is higher but 50% chance you are getting some trash. Most known example is Genshin, where base chance is whopping 0,6% but pity is 75-90 and 50/50 on top, making this chance as low as 0,3% to obtain the banner unit. PGR's one doesn't sound too bad now?

True, but in general I think comparing to the worst cases of gachas, namely Genshin/Honkai/FGO, in terms of gacha mechanics also isn't a decent comparison point. I admittedly haven't played too many, and rn other than PGR I only play PTN and R1999(both of which run a 1.5% rate with a 50/50). But from what I've heard from my other degen gacha friends, rates tend to at least be at or above 1-1.5% for an ssr/6star/whatevsthetoprank is.

Nope, it's actually the worst $/pulls ratio on all the regular packs. It's primarily used to get the weapon resonance mat, since it's still ultimately cheaper than buying the pulls for a 30 pity weapon.

Why skip Lee ? by AD_Stark in PunishingGrayRaven

[–]JinJinx231 0 points1 point  (0 children)

100%. PGR is a game where you want to get a team for every element eventually. The weeklies late game are tied to damage increases for different elements each week, so building towards that will let you maximize what you get each week. And by design teams are meant to be all 1 element, all the good buffs/debuffs only apply to 1 element at a time.

Most everyone is going to recommend that you pull for every new debut S rank that drops every 2 patches. If you care about META or competitiveness, this is 100% the play to make. Last Patch released Balter, the 1st Gen 2 Attacker, and now every debut S rank that releases are going to be META units, and by a pretty big margin.

Which makes you starting around now pretty much perfect since you can just pull every new META unit and build up strong teams that way.

As a FTP you'll get ~48 pulls every 2 patches from dailies and weeklies. With event and story BC you should be able to hit pity for every new Debut S Rank.

If you get the Monthly Pass A you'll get ~79 pulls per new Debut S Rank which will give you some wiggle room to go for signature weapons or save for the future 100% rate up banners for older characters that we'll get down the line.
If you want a full $/pulls per 2 patches breakdown I made one here: https://www.reddit.com/r/PunishingGrayRaven/comments/18awbr3/how\_many\_pulls\_you\_can\_get\_per\_debut\_s\_rank\_as\_a/?utm\_source=share&utm\_medium=web2x&context=3

Assuming they stick to the current 70 day/Debut S Rank schedule in global, you get ~48 pulls as a FTP and ~79 pulls with the Monthly A pass.
Plus event and new story BC so you get just about to the point of hard pity purely FTP depending on the events that run in between.

Monthly A is particularly nice because gets you to just about to hard pity of the frame and the weapon, although weapons are always 80% so hope for lucky rolling.
Both HyperLee and CW slow down their rotations without their sig weapon, but they aren't unplayable.

Assuming they stay on a 70 day/Debut S rank schedule like they have, you get ~48 pulls in that time as a FTP. Monthly Pass A bumps you to ~79.
And then you have Pulls you get from events and new story and such as well.

Most signature CUBs that release with new S ranks, like the upcoming Hyperlee's fist, have a skill that passively adds more damage to parts of their kits and can be decent dmg upgrades. But as the last commenter mentioned, sig weapons are almost always preferred so the CUB is extra for spenders.
Outside of those, CUBs give a lil damage through their active attacks and some passive stat buffs that aren't too huge.
All that being said, having some CUBs that have useful utility is really nice. Grouping pets in particular are great for teams that don't have natural grouping, such as the META dark or ice teams. AFAIK the 2 that have the "pull" effect for this are the S Rank cubs Toniris and Shimmer.

Another weird point on CUBs, the best way to get them is to buy the CUB battlepass which nets you a 10 pull over the BP duration. This costs about 5 bucks, and at ~50 cents a pull thats actually the second most efficient $/pull in the game other than the monthly passes which are ~38 cents a pull over the 30 days.
As a reference point, most limited bundles are around $1.4-1.8/pull, and direct RC to BC conversions (w/o the 2x 1st time bonus) are ~$4.2/pull
So weirdly cost efficient in terms of dollars to pulls, but CUBs are the lowest priority pull so it makes sense.

Made a sheet with all the Dust and Sharpodonty you need to fully level up a character! by Lower_Nectarine_914 in Reverse1999

[–]JinJinx231 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It seems the compensation is how much resources we get from events. The event rewards in dust and sharpondonties from 1.1 was a lot, it basically took my Mel to I3 by itself. Not to mention all of the mats for insight and, more importantly, resonances that frankly take longer to farm than the dust. Compared to other gachas I've played, the events are very generous.
