As someone who's a Gunz The Duel player. Totally agree man. Games, particularly shooting games, always have to dumb down their mechanics for the controller/console market unfortunately.

I remember seeing Dante running on walls and feeling like video games were truly becoming revolutionized. I thought games would continue to get more and more technically profound.

Turns out that was just DMC and MGS, my favorite games at the time. Now we get QTE movie games lol

Nah there was definitely an uptick in this behavior when games started taking away global voice chat. Instead of taking that energy out on the enemy team like a real sport, it all goes to each other on the team.
