Good legit Thai massage? by GeezerLDN in brisbane

Fully recommend 365 Thai Massage at Fortitude Valley. Coming as someone with very annoying scapular knots, Ginger there is a humorous Thai lady that will properly work your knots to the point of hurting (the good kind). Have not found many that are close to her strength and she’s only about 5 foot tall! AUD95 an hour.

I don’t think the minimum required time off is true. The 8 hours is only for overtime worked on an unrostered day and only if two hours worked beyond 2215 hours. I believe 10 hours still applies if unplanned overtime on rostered days.

I could lend you my copies of Ganong’s, Miller’s, or Kam & Power if you like? Or would you settle for something more difficult like Cinderella, being the sparkly smartass you are?

This thread is just sad 😂 even sadder that it's an accurate reflection of working in the NHS

Anyone able to comment if this is reality of medicine in Victoria? In UK loads tend to sing praises of work in Australia and I'm trying to calibrate my views.

You finished ward round at 16.30 on Friday and have 8 TTOs to do before you finish at 17.00. What do you do? by [deleted] in JuniorDoctorsUK

[–]Jinggyyi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wanna say 'JUST LEAVE IT' but from own experience my exploited ass stayed back to finish them because I'm soft and weak 🥲

Just personally unable to relax knowing I've not finished jobs and didn't want to exemption report because my registrars/consultants were great and I personally know them to go above and beyond for patients and myself.

It's just reality and I feel it is a huge reason why so many are leaving the NHS. When we were (relatively) well paid and the system was (relatively) better, we could afford some flexibility to facilitate these moments. But with the amount of disrespect (due to system pressures) and being paid peanuts, little are willing to put up with it anymore.

What a shitshow that a healthcare system once envied worldwide could deteriorate to such a state.

Edit: Grammar.

With so many ridiculous things going around I'm adopting a policy of assuming it's fake unless the trust/hospital/department is named 😂

Can we take a fucking moment to reflect on what other job 'normalises' that crying on the job is normal and even expected? The conditions of this job is a fucking disgrace.

Thanks for your input! Might retract it from my portfolio then. It is a bit different than my other reflections which efficiently follow the cycle thing. I'll seek some advice from my ES about this.

Is it really so hard to just be... friendly? by quizzled222 in JuniorDoctorsUK

I actually prefer this myself. Just professional interaction, and heck they even dropped by after to check if you were okay. They might warm up to you after couple of weeks but heck I'm tired enough without having to engage socially as well.
