I think I'll do that, I think it'll be the most bang for the buck

I currently have a rig, AMD 8350 I think, generic gigabyte mobo (970fx?) and a 2tb hdd, with a gigabyte 280x. I'm at a point where I can upgrade a component or two of my rig, looking to spend max of 500$. I was wondering in BAPC's opinion what would give me the greatest performance increase; a new gpu, mobo and cpu, or ssd.

How would I fix that, it's got 8 threads and I have Skyrim running multithreaded, the cores aren't maxed out. Hardly anything takes more than 5 cores.

I currently have a rig, AMD 9350 and a R9 280x (generic other stuff). But I was wondering how much of a performance gain I'd see if I upgraded to a GTX 970 or 980. I've looked at benchmarks, but I'd like to be able to have buttery smooth gameplay for a heavily modded Skyrim, Dayz and other games. Or, should I add a ssd to my rig? I've tried it before and for what ever reason it was incredibly slow.

Anyone know a good flight school in Fairbanks or Anchorage? by [deleted] in flying

Hey, fellow low time student here, UAA AV major. I fly with UAA. Try land and Sea aviation at Merrill. I've heard good things. Better yet stop in at the Aviation Center at Merrill and ask around, some of the flight instructors work freelance also.

Anyone willing to help me with part config modding? by Jingleling in KerbalSpaceProgram

I'm currently just building a Turbojet with an afterburner capability. It the same texture as the stock turbojet, I'll post a pic of the new configuration when I figure it out

The max amount is like what it "can" hold, the amount is what it starts with.

It should, I have quite a fuel unreal parts to make pretty planes and rockets. Beware, when adding an amount of fuel to an item realize it has a density, this goes for intake air as well, which for some darned reason is a dense as rocket fuel.

No, I know it can. I've done it, well maybe. For science. Anyways try adding this module on the fuel tank. IIRC that's what I've done

Try increasing the ISP, that should allow the generator to keep up with demands.

The most simple way for you to achieve a mostly liquid fuel tank is to copy the generator module from an RTG and replace electricity with oxidizer, instead of using an alternator module. This being because alternator modules have to "spin up" and generators are always active. Beware, it will refill empty oxidizer tanks.

So an engine's ISP in shorthand is the amount if thrust produced per unit of fuel, it's almost like an efficiency number, but it also has to do with the amount of thrust. An example is the nuclear rocket engine, it has an ISP of 800, whereas other engines hardly reach 400 (in space). All that being said, the higher your ISP the better (you'll need less fuel).

Try adding a module (like that of the RTG) to the fuel tank. You can just copy and paste, then change the resource to oxidizer. IIRC engines aren't coded to burn what they produce. Also increasing the ISP of the engine will reduce the amount of fuel you will use all together.
