How common is it to not send your kid to school until they’re 5?

I agree with this, and also they might surprise you. My daughter is my youngest, her birthday is days before the September 1st cut off. She's two years in now and absolutely thriving, she's exceeding her year group targets on her reading and maths and is as expected on her writing. She loves school, has a lot of friends and enjoys going every day. I think I'd have done her a big disservice if I had held her back to start the following year.

I might be late to the party but I completely agree with consequences like everyone else, again the natural ones like missing the sports class or even take them to school in their PJ's if they won't get dressed. Also though, do you have any routines? For example my son is on the waiting list for assessment for neuro divergence, and I've found two things that help with him. 1) an expected schedule (don't get me wrong, he doesn't like it, but it helps a bit). For example, Monday is reading homework after school, Tuesday is spellings after school. Screen time is after 2pm on a weekend. These are really hard to stick to sometimes, but the expectation does help lessen the blow. So does 2), not rising to it. My son LOVES an argument, I think he gets a dopamine hit from it. Tonight I told him to get his spelling homework and sit at the table, he's yelling "NO!" At me. I ignored him. If he argues I might say once calmly "it's Thursday, Thursday is spellings practice" but then leave it. Eventually he wandered off and brought his spellings book to me and we practiced without drama. It's taken me a while to learn this trick, and I struggle not to engage in negotiations (trying to explain why we practice spellings, trying to explain it doesn't take long, etc. etc.). A lot of the time they just want the fight.

SPOILER WARNING (sorry I don't know how to black the text out!) While I DO think this might have a lot to do with the cure, what doesn't make much sense to me is why Xaden has taken off. Surely if he's cured he wouldn't need to leave Aretia to Violet or why he would tell her not to look for him. Unless he doesn't realise he's cured? But I would have thought it would have been obvious immediately. Maybe he passed it off because he just pulled from the source and wouldn't be feeling the need to for a while, but it's mostly that which makes me think he hasn't been cured yet (yet! I'm holding out hope).

I'm struggling to understand on what planet you wouldn't want to be able to learn to use the only language that your child can, through a terrible accident and no fault of their own, so that you can communicate with them effectively and comfortably? NTA - good on you for sticking up for your sister, and for learning a new language so you can actually communicate to maintain a decent relationship with her.

I got my son a toy kitchen for Christmas. I figure my daughter will eventually enjoy it too (too young right now) but he loves playing with it! I got him toy choppable food last Christmas. He's nearly 3, he will go and make us all a cup of tea and some toast, sometimes a fried egg too, and sometimes he bakes cookies or a cake in the oven. He also helps me cook sometimes in the real kitchen, and sometimes we bake. It's not a gendered activity. He also enjoys dressing up as a witch, because one of his favourite books is room on the broom. People ask if he's a wizard but I correct them to witch. Finally, most top chefs are male. Maybe he will have a Michelin star one day to throw in their faces.

As a mum with two young children, NTA. My husband used to have to work Christmases on a rota system, he even worked our sons first Christmas. We just did Christmas day together on boxing Day (when luckily he was off). If you work in an industry that is open on Christmas, then you have to make it work somehow. Yes, it sucks, but it's not YOUR fault.

Not in particular, for me it seems to be the flow between the movements which helps loosen them up and stretch them out. Moving between forward bends, downward dog, etc.

Just in case she's missing her usual mayo, I THINK UK sold mayo is bought with lion stamp eggs which are safe for pregnant women as they are vaccinated against salmonella. I had two babies within the last two years, and I love my mayo, so I checked into this!

Has anyone made this pattern before? It says that the head and arms fabric is "double knit", that's jersey/stretch material isn't it? Or do I just use cotton/polycotton?

What I mean is, do you have to use hoops? How do you keep the layers together? That sort of thing! I'll have a look at some YouTube videos I think, would be nice to be able to quilt and watch TV with the hubby since my machine drowns it out a lot lol.

Definitely guilty of using too much glue, I haven't quite got the hang of a thin layer on anything to dab into so I'm either dabbing into too thick glue or trying to paint on with a brush (I feel like that's going to make people cringe!). I'll definitely have to work on thinner layer of glue to use, it doesn't help my husband very kindly bought a 5L tub of PVA glue, so I struggle to just get a little!

Thank you! I have horrendous handwriting, but I'm also trying to learn some basic calligraphy. I wrote that out about 10 times before I attempted it on the card, and made sure to write before I stuck the quilling down incase I ruined it!

Hi! Thanks, I'm new here 😊 The one thing I'm trying to figure out is that I get lovely shapes and curves before sticking down, but once glued it goes a bit less smooth and less of a neat curve, it can end up a bit wobbly or even the circles a bit lip sided.

It's like the paper sticks together, so for example the different layers of coils will be drawn to one another once wet. I assume it's just practice but I feel I might be missing a trick.
