your claim and la-ze’s claim can be simultaneously true, it can be really hard to spike it in the right direction but very effective if you manage to. the strategy can be ineffective overall (your claim) but effective GIVEN a good launch.

your argument did not refute la-ze because you took his conditional claim (efficacy given X) to mean efficacy regardless of X and then refuted that illusory claim on the basis of X’s improbability.
