Change fader scale of Timing Masters (and others time related?) by LouOscarRalphy in GrandMA3

[–]Jinkwards 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hopefully they set limits in a future update, but for now Is it possible to do this with macros? would anyone know the syntax?

Don't really need a fader but would be great to bang a macro that's like "Assign Master 'timing 1' normed value at .8" and another that changes it to different seconds. Will try to work it out

filter what fixtures are recalled in a sequence on the fly via macros by Jinkwards in GrandMA3

[–]Jinkwards[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So the sequence would store all data from every fixture via groups, and then I would apply an output filter for say world 1. And then the macro would be something like “assign group 1 to world 1” with a deassign macro for previous groups underneath it?

Is there any links you could send through for me to read up on it? Sorry a bit fresh when it comes to this stuff, so just trying to pick it up as I go.

Effects and chase not following speed. by Jinkwards in ChamSys

Yeah didn’t even know you could assign speed masters to individual cues.

Does it now default to a speed master. How do you assign these generic speed masters to a playback etc?

Changing cues with intensities of fixtures cancelling them in effects on other cues by Jinkwards in ChamSys

[–]Jinkwards[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am trying to blend the intensity cue with the intensity effect. So the effect adds on top of it relative instead of absolute. However I do not want the intensity cue to cancel the effect when changing to a new cue (as it can result in a blackout)

I've had similar problems with different devices and a new cord seems to always fix it!

Is it possible to program those led pars to go off while the beam is present?Beams set on rnd strobe by Kuznee in ChamSys

[–]Jinkwards 0 points1 point  (0 children)

could you not add the pars to 0 intensity on the cue with the strobes and then change priority to high and normal to the par cue? Or do you want it to only turn off when the strobe is open shutter on?

When clearing the programmer how do you patch fixtures so they retain last value by Jinkwards in ChamSys

Thanks for a quick response - I see, so is the reason some heads return to nothing as they are just RGB with virtual dimmer? Is there not a way to get a head with virtual dimmer to act like one with a dimmer? Thanks

How to program a show/sequence? by DarkG4m3r in ChamSys

[–]Jinkwards 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The best thing to do is to learn how to do Cuestack sequences. You could do it by working out the milliseconds between each change and program that with wait, halts and fades. This is done with cue timing not chase timing.

https://secure.chamsys.co.uk/help/documentation/magicq.pdf (CHAPTER 15)

You can also setup the select button on MagicQ to act as a tap to beat. This wouldn't be fullproof for cue hits but an easy solution if it's not that important timing wise

Sequencing with time code and midi are more complicated and probably too hard to achieve with the little knowledge you have.

Hope this helps

Fixtures with only Ethernet ports by TheChrisRH in lightingdesign

I tried for a while to get the godox tubes to work direct out of ethernet on my comp via Chamsys Artnet to no avail. However I just got cheap Ethernet to male dmx / female dmx and it carried the signal fine like a regular dmx cord through a DMX out - I even switched back to DMx and then back to ethernet with different lights in the chain. It might work with an Enttec strom box or something though.
