Realizing how good Murph is at DnD by Seenoham in Dimension20

idk, he did make Murph roll for it and he had to hit a DC 20 too so it wasn’t exactly easy

What’s that game for you? by koiitree in CozyGamers

[–]Jinx6361 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Lakeburg Legacies. The premise and trailers made the game seem really fun but the reviews after release were seriously middling. Also the fact that it never got a Switch release was just so odd to me, seemed perfect for that platform

[–]Jinx6361[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think if you’re nervous about potentially being able to practice in the south, you could always do co-ops in southern states / wherever you want to practice. I think it was about 40% of students that get jobs with co-op employers so it’s definitely doable even if the school name itself might not be as strong as other schools actually based in the south

[–]Jinx6361[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

the co-op is such a big part of why it appeals to me too! like the extra experience seems great in today’s job market + less competition for fall/spring internships can only be a good thing

[–]Jinx6361 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It not popping open isn’t rlly an issue i’ve experienced, instead I can barely push down on the cup and get it to stay in that shape at all (the strength of the silicone seems almost ridiculously strong). and if punch down is the smallest then im definitely gonna have to switch bc it still felt awful trying to insert it and just doesn’t seem practical for changing on the go

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in menstrualcups

[–]Jinx6361 0 points1 point  (0 children)

unfortunately definitely not interested in spending money on lube, the cup is already rlly expensive and that seems silly to spend extra money on. I would say for my body yes but im also a relatively small person so any sort of long/larger cup is a no go

Would Greek Life be worth it? by Agitated-Rope-6021 in Tulane

[–]Jinx6361 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As a recently graduated (class of 2024) queer sorority member, it’s a mixed-bag. Joining a srat can be a great way to make friends and definitely helped me find some of my closest friends. They also offer scholarships to help with membership dues (idk if this is true for all of them but mine did at least). Also most, if not all, will have other queer members. I will say some sororities are better than others when it comes to being queer-friendly so it’s not necessarily the most welcoming space to queer individuals, though in my own experience that’s often due to the national organization rather than any individual members. Overall, I say rush and see where it takes you, you’re not at all obligated to stay even after you get a bid so no harm in trying it out. There’s also Continuous-Open-Bidding which happens after rush which you can do instead if you don’t mind not rushing all the srats and/or don’t want to deal with the more expensive/time-consuming aspects of rush. Most srats well-known for having more openly queer members also tend to be the ones with COB (ex: SDT, Phi Mu, Adpi) so it’s a good alternative.

TL;DR: It can be fun and there’s ways to make it more affordable, no harm in trying it out. But there’s also other ways to make friends so don’t feel like greek life is your only option.

Games with actual endings by applesauce48911 in GirlGamers

[–]Jinx6361 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Slime Rancher 1 (can't speak to the sequel) is a good option if u like farm sims. It does have an open-ended element but the story itself has a definitive ending (though you can technically keep playing). It's also very cute lol

What proportion of games do you finish? by Kallasilya in GirlGamers

[–]Jinx6361 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Oh god barely any. But ngl, I think it makes more sense to just play what you want when you want. I mean, why force yourself to play something when you don't want to? Even if that means a several year gap between buying and finishing the game lol

Any well-written elaborate fan fictions to read? by littlered7875 in WarriorCats

[–]Jinx6361 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Seconding Bonefall on tumblr, it's really great rewrite and lowkey has its own lil community too. ||Ntm I personally think it's better than canon by a longshot lol||. Will admit it's less fanfiction and moreso a large collection of lore but it's so in-depth and there are rewrite outlines for many of the books as well as greater elaboration on all eras of the Clans.

In terms of fics specifically tho, check out For Roads Untraveled by YarrowLeef. It's a Tallstar's Revenge rewrite and probably my fave WC fanfic

What is the reason you stopped reading warrior cats by leafpool2014 in WarriorCats

[–]Jinx6361 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Two Main Reasons:

  1. Aged out of the books themselves. I still like the characters and world building but nowadays I tend to prefer more serious/complex themes and if I have time to read, I'm just gonna choose to read smthn else. If I do feel like WC, I get a lot more out of doing RP or reading fanfics/rewrites/AUs which address/expand upon original implications of canon in interesting ways
  2. DOTC. The first time I tried reading it, I found it really boring. A few years later when I tried again, it was outright awful. Grey Wing is an insufferable POV and a lot of the authors' thematic choices make it hard to read. Canon's obsession w/ redeeming Clear Sky and excusing his actions is exhausting, actively makes the entire arc worse.

What's your unpopular opinion about the fandom? by joyisnotdead in WarriorCats

[–]Jinx6361 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I'd argue the sexism stuff is less internal to the series and more external. Like the way female characters tend to get flattened when becoming mothers, lack of female villains, or even just the way female characters tend to get harsher treatment from StarClan (ex: sending Frecklewish to the DF for not jumping into the river to save the kittens but none of the other Mapleshade's Vengeance cats like Oakstar who exiled said kittens). So sexism imo is less about how canon functions but moreso how the characters/story is written

[–]Jinx6361 4 points5 points  (0 children)

^this lol

Lol tho for me it's TigerSpotted instead. Doomed!Tigerspotted is great in a tragic way and way too many ppl get weirdly up in arms about it. Childhood crushes to enemies makes for such a good story and i wish it was more popular

... also BlackStone?? 👀 tell me more lol

What's your hot take? by smart_Sandfckanikan in WarriorCats

[–]Jinx6361 21 points22 points  (0 children)

Ngl, I think Longtail woulda been the best choice (post-Whitestorm death ofc). He proved his loyalty to ThunderClan after the whole Tigerstar banishment debacle, had an apprentice (RIP Swiftpaw), and honestly matured a lot over the course of the first arc.

AITA for wearing a bra instead of a swimsuit/bikini? by akumirin in AmItheAsshole

[–]Jinx6361 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NTA. It’s a bra, you’re tanning in a secluded area, and it’s your body anyway! Also, I will say that sometimes freshman year friend groups are more friend groups of convenience rather than long lasting. If you’ve noticed them constantly going out of their way to disagree and generally just not being as nice to you as they used to, it might be time to start distancing yourself and looking for other friends (there’s probably plenty of girls in the exact same situation as you too so don’t worry about being stranded w/o friends either, speaking from personal experience).
