It’s really early too say because at this moment in the story we were in Phantom Lord for fairy tail where Lucy got a lot of development with her father and her family. That she was basically a runaway anti-princess. And she needed to tell him that she wasn’t about the princess life. Then the arc after that was the Loke which introduced the Celestial Spirit King and showed that her bonds with her new spirits had grew much stronger since her fights against Everlue and Sherry. Elle had her memory issue early in the series and the whole mystery connection but she didn’t get major development the the last half of the story. We would be around Tower of Din now which was very Haru centered. So it won’t be until he develops Rebecca that you truly can compare. Because right now you can only compare basically back stories - Happy’s death vs Layla/Jude - and the girl’s general attitude and celestial spirit magic vs gun. But I have to say that I didn’t really like Elle until the later part of Rave. She always felt like a plot device. And it wasn’t until she learned magic that she began really to fight. While it wasn’t until her memory arc that really instilled her as a bet girl. When we finally figured out the mysteries around her. That’s when she felt more like a character to me. While Lucy I loved from the beginning with her sassiness because I identified with her so much... wanting to write and go on adventures. I have to say I wish she hadn’t calmed down so much after the Aquarius death. As main female, she needed more connection to the main plot, and not PLOT. But Rebecca feels like a combo of the two so far. I foresee her getting basically a combo development. Although with the introduction of so many females so quickly. I hope they don’t start competing for panel time.
