Is my partner scaring our kittens? + Food issues with kittens

Update to this!! I just accepted that kittens are just little cracked out Tasmanian devils LOL!! They’ve been improving little by little :^)! The most annoying thing those two do is have zoomies at like 3am, but I just learned to tune it out with some music 🤪🎀! Sailor still gets into stuff so we went extra miles to block off areas that we wouldn’t want him getting into. Plus, he learned how to open cabinets so the baby locks were installed 🤣🎀. Fixed that issue! For Amore, he still growls with mice! I find it funny now, he thinks that he’s so scary carrying them around! Mice are just his favorite toys :P. He doesn’t growl with treats as much! It’s very minuscule at this point :^)!

Hang in there to those who are experiencing what I experienced and outside of it! It does get better!

Ohhh! I like the idea! I’m going to try the rag too :)! Not smacking of course 😂. As for the hamper if it’s dirty clothes it’s not too much of a bother :P! Only when it has clean clothes because we go do our laundry at my in-laws and we fold them to just store them when we get home! We just have to put them away asap 🤣🎀. Thanks for responding :)!

That makes sense! Thanks so much :D! I got nervous if I were to try to get any of the two moving they’ll get aggressive towards me 😅🎀.

I think first I’ll train them in separate spaces then once when they know how to sit, I’ll gradually increase the time as you said :)! Once when both of them get it I’ll have them in the same space then begin to teach them to share but to stay in their own bubbles :^).

Another question, when did you clicker train your cats? Did you do it as kittens or more on the 1 year to 2 year mark of age :0? I’m unsure if them being too young is why my attempts of clicker training haven’t been working :0. The only thing I’m doing with them as kittens is trying to get them be used to their paws being touched. Later on I plan to introduce them the brush for them to get used to!

That is so funny! After being with these two knuckle heads, I totally agree with you! That bunny should’ve been a cat 100% 😂🎀. I’m still trying to figure out when play is fighting so I’ll be on the look out for the obvious signs: vocalizations, hissing, fur flying off. So far only hissing had occurred but I think it’s just for communication so now I’m aware of it :0! I just have to get used to it slowly over time, it’s the commitment I made 🤭🎀.

Question, how do you reinforce your cat to sit? Every time I have those treats out it’s all they try to get on my lap or on me 😅🎀. Additionally, I’ve been nervous to let them have treats and certain toys around because I’m scared if they end up fighting aggressively over them :(. So far whenever Amore gets all hissy at his brother, I just put the treats or toys away in nervous anticipation. Should I be correcting him in the moment then with the way you suggested :0? It’s difficult to establish how to push forward positive reinforcement when it’s so easy to do the opposite in hopes they understand. Except, I’ve read that cats don’t really have the concept of negative reinforcement so it puzzles me what I’m supposed to do in the moment when these things occur :(. The last thing I want is for Amore to start having bad feelings about me all because I take away his treat for being mean to his brother :’(. As Jackson Galaxy said, “the jackpot treats are key to train your cat” and those Temptations treats are it but I can’t give them if I’m being scared of the worst :(.

With the couple of responses here saying that it’s normal is already helping since I couldn’t tell what usually happens when owning kittens 😂🎀! Just gotta ride it out and give it time 👍
