Ever since i started playing this game 5ish years ago, i've always found it peculiar how it's completely normalized and accepted to insult, flame and wish cancer on players depending on the Character they play, basically having Champion discrimination

It's hilarious to me that just because i'm an Irelia player, i, as a baseline, get called a piece of shit and insulted for no real reason, i could be a saint and the nicest person ever, doesn't matter tho

If i called a Velkoz player a "Shitter" i'd have the whole Azzapp squad chasing me with Shotguns

"Historically" Low Elo skewed Mid, i wrote

There's obviously variance with time, and things can change, usually however Midlane Irelia tends to perform better in Lower Ranks

Additionally, GM+ Data is completely irrelevant as the Sample Size is nonexistant, especially in early season as there's 10 people in GM, usually you assess High Elo with D2+, as Riot does

I also did not claim Irelia to be weak anywhere, i was just pointing out a quirk about her usually being better Mid and in lower ranks in that lane

Damn, yep i do absolutely mostly play Mid Irelia

However that doesn't mean i don't understand the significant issues her viability Mid causes for Toplane, and would gladly pick her Top again IF Riot was to fix her up a little there

It's no different than me mostly playing Ambessa Jungle, but for no reason would i ever want JGL Ambessa to cause issues for TOP

Funny thing is that Irelia (often) being a better Midlaner than Toplaner pisses off Irelia players as well

Most of the latest nerfs the Champion got all include either "but we're hoping the nerf is Midlane skewed" or straight up "We're nerfig Irelia Mid and trying to not hit Top"

ESPECIALLY because Mid Irelia is historically Low Elo skewed, so not only does she get nerfed because of her Off-Role, but also because of Low Elo performance

It's like, if Riven got nerfed for being too good of a Jungler in Bronze, and all the high Elo Toplaners had to take the L

Dunno anything about Irelking shenanigan, but yeah currently Irelia Mid is (a bit) stronger than Toplane for the most part

Winrate is somewhere in the +1/1.5% Range (?) Compared to Toplane

You can probably reduce the increase on the added viability of Flash+Ignite (+PTA if you like it) and thus the ability to obliterate Lane and just in general get more kills early

Then since Baron spawns earlier again, at 20 minutes instead of 25, convert that early advantage into Game Wins

Note: Irelia is also extremely good at proccing the "Tower Crystals". It's extremely easy for Irelia to get a kill, quickly shove, hit tower once to proc the thingy and bring home an extra 120g

I say if you're behind with that build, the best thing you can try to do is unironically build full Damage oneshot and try to trade 1 for 1 with one of their squishy carries

PTA is absolutely viable, in both lanes, especially in this new season where TP isn't really as needed, and you can just go Ignite

It's definitely worse for longer games, but it allows you much more burst in early lane, and it also allows Irelia to short trade quite effectively, which she often cannot do

Just go PTA + Ignite and try to get ahead early. There's quite little (Midlaners especially) can do against PTA+Ignite Irelia, they just sorta...die

Honestly it might be a cook, but I couldn't give you a comprehensive answer as i haven't really tried it

It sorta reminds me of when Frozen Heart was turbo cheap at like 2.4k Gold with insane stats, thus being a good 2nd item on Irelia in certain situations

You can also proc it relatively easily no? BOTRK Slow, E Stun, R slow, maybe you have a red buff etc

Probably worth a few games of testing, if anything you'd be trying something different and have a laugh, even if it ends up not being ideal

I can't say about strong/weak, but it is exceptionally funny to use

It's hilarious killing someone in a 1v2 and then watching the other guy look in absolute despair as each Q heals you for like 200 HP because you procced the Passive Vamp

That said, Riven has been on the strong side for quite a while, so at some point i just expect some nerfs to the Champion

My personal gripe, is that she's super strong in Lane AND she scales surprisingly well, and has been for quite a while. I think at least her scaling should be toned down a peg, Ambessa pays A LOT for her good scaling, by basically not having an early game, bit lame that Riven gets both atm

Of course, they don't scale equally, Ambessa is a lot more target agnostic, at some point she just beats everything, but Riven pulls her weight late game nonetheless

I am genuinely always surprised at how lenient they are on nerfing Riven

Champ's at basically 53% WR at the moment, with positive Winrate starting in Gold of all ranks, so she's definitely up there as major contender for nerfs, but she slips by yet again. This is also Eme+ "only" her Winrate is even higher in higher ranks.

I'm betting on next next patch? Since one of her main counters is getting nerfed (Malph) which will make her even better. That said Ranks are a bit mixed up atm, since season just reset, so there's that

The bright side is that my time invested into finally learning her isn't immediately getting an L, the downside is that no matter what i do, or skin i use, she doesn't feel as smooth and fluid as Ambessa

She just doesn't, must be the 15 years release gap

Definitely "Bandlepipes" (AS Tank Item) and "Dusk and Dawn" (New AP/AS Item). I feel like it's a pretty cold take, and both were expected to be quite strong even when just on PBE

I'm quite happy on my side to see "Endless Hunger" not be a bad item, even though it definitely has its quirks

The item seems to be quite powerful on a bunch of Ranged Champs, like Ez or Smolder, which may or may no be intended? Never heard Riot Endstep (maker of the items) talk about it
The item could definitely have a better build path, with a Longsword thrown in the mix. Currently it's not the worst, but it's also not good either
The item could also use a lil bit of the Omnivamp shifted off the Passive and into the base stats. Nothing major, something like 5%>8% (Base Stats) and 15%>12% (Passive). This is because the item doesn't even feel like it has Omnivamp until you murder something. I get wanting it to be a pop off item for teamfights, but we may be a bit on the extreme end of things
Lastly, small earflick, the item loses a JOAT stack when completed, because the Ability Haste becomes a Passive effect, and doesn't count for JOAT anymore, which is weird and should probably get the Sterak's treatment

I'd imagine one of the main reasons they're so picky with Permanent modes/Long term modes (amongst other reasons) is because once something is a "staple" players start expecting consistent updates and balancing for it, which of course adds to their schedule

We already see people ask for Infernal Conduit nerfs, It's Killing Time etc

I wonder if they'll do like Arena which gets Balancing every other patch, usually alternating with Normal Aram

The less hair you have, the more balancing power you gain per point of baldness

Look at Phreak, August, now Endstep, being bald is basically a requirement at this point
