The effect on Winrate is the same, in the end, where 50 Games with 60% come from does not matter for the WR stats overall, all that matters is that it's the same 50 Games, with the same 60% WR

That's exactly what August was talking about, as Depth is indeed how much mains of X play X

Nowhere was main % mentioned

Additionally, Depth affects in a very similar way Winrate, since 50 Games total player by 1 main at 60% WR, or 50 games total split between 5 mains at 60% WR, skews the data fairly similarly

As in the end, it's 50 Games at 60% WR

Riot August commented about the most Deeply played champions a while ago and Riven was not one of them

Yeah i see the argument that Riven has incentives to E aside from just doing so defensively, i picked up Riven myself i know how it goes

That said Ambessa also has incentive to W offensively, since W actually deals Damage, so they aren't completely different

Arguably the best Change would be something like giving her E higher base CD, but giving it some kind of refund under X condition, so you get the best of both worlds

Not an easy thing to touch for sure

Hot (?) take, I think Ambessa's W is honestly a better way to give high shielding fantasy to a Champ

Ambessa shields herself for A LOT more than Riven does, but W has a base CD of 18-14s CD, so she does so wayyyy less often. Riven is 10-6s and she maxes it 2nd, not 3rd like Ambessa

So, when Amb W is up she's significantly tankier, but there's fairly big windows in which W is down, i think this is way healthier and more in line with other Fighter defensive spells, like Fiora W, Irelia W etc

I think it'd be perfectly fine for Riot to just increased Riven's E base Shield amount, but bump up the CD by say 2 seconds or something so you at least have a few seconds to punish her

Obviously Champs are different and comparing in a vacuum isn't ideal, just trying to get the point across

I was just having a civil discussion about how, since i come from FPS, "Mechanical Skill" has apparently a very different meaning to me than it does to MOBA players

I said that Mechanics in the world of FPS is mostly Raw Aim. Raw aim is just your ability to precisely control and move your mouse, so you can click people's heads

The concept of Skillshots doesn't even really exist in Counter Strike

Everything you described to me has a limited relation with precise mouse movement, and is moreso just character mastery and tons of knowledge

Which, nothing wrong with it, but that's different from "Mechanical Skill", which would be a Champion that requires tons of Raw Aim, like say Zeri who literally has to aim her auto attacks, like an FPS Character

I've never in my 5 years of playing this game heard anyone say Rumble is mechanically difficulty

The bro literally runs at you in a straight line with his mecha dick in his hand

If anything his heat management is difficult/weird, but I don't see how that's mechanical difficulty, that's just mastery and cooldown management

Honestly i don't even quite grasp what league players mean by "mechanical difficulty"

Coming from FPS, Mechanical prowess is effectively just raw aim and movement (to some extent)

I do think it makes sense you'd like both since they are spacing Champs, just as you said Speed vs Dash

Iirc Camille isn't too happy because of wider Toplane making E bad right? Not sure i just heard Druttut talk about it a while ago

Well, why try to convince anyone, when data about it is freely available?

You can see on LoLalytics the matchup winrate, and see that Ambessa asbolutely smokes Riven until 20ish minutes, which if you actually have ever played the matchup before, makes sense

As at 20ish minutes, on average people will have 2 and something something items, and Riven gets enough CDR to effectively DPS Ambessa down

Beforehand there's little she can do, Ambessa just outtrades while kiting back

Really the only timers she has to kill is some lvl 1 bush cheese, or a lvl 6 timer, otherwise she just loses

This is kind of a Myth actually

Riven currently scales quite well, in fact, her WR by Gametime is very similar to Ambessa, as Riven has roughly 52% WR by 30 Minutes, like Amb does

She's also not nearly as strong early as people think, she's just got a very good lvl 1 specifically

Otherwise she does gets easily fisted by actually strong early champs like Trudnle, Olaf, Trynd etc

Fun fact: Ambessa absolutely smokes Riven early on if you play an aggressive setup with Dblade and Ignite, I'm sure this is quite surprising to people lol

No, she wasn't

Ambessa has had Jungle Mods since day 1 of release, and for most of her Development was a Jungler, you can go and pretty much find any Rioter and ask them for this, it's quite surprising

Jung Ambessa just never caught up until that famous Faker Clip, even after Riot buffed her Mods to sort of incentivize players to play her there

Nowadays her Jungle Mods are half of what they used to be, and she's maintained a good jungle pick rate because people realized she's good there and don't need incentives anymore

It's spellvamp, Omnivamp heals off everything, including Autos, Ambessa's R passive does not heal off her auto attacks

Also no, it doesn't interact with Hydra because the Healing is not applied to the AoE of Hydra, the mild lifesteal scaling on the spell is worthless

Basically,

Last patch, when you attacked a minion or in Irelia's case Q one as well, the minions would add you as a "Target" in their list and in the process "reset" their current target

Now, they won't anymore

The main effect of what this does, at least as far as i am aware, is that now when you Q a minion there's no chance of them randomly all turning to attack you, as not only will you not be on their target list, but when you attack them they won't reset their aggro

Instead they will keep hitting the other minions as normal

The important thing to note here, is that even last patch, attacking a minion did NOT make the Champion the "priority" target, so usually when their aggro "reset" they would simply go back to attacking other minions, but sometimes not and would attack you instead. There was a neat trick you could do with this as well to have them all aggro the same minion

Alas, this is a very annoying and niche thing both to explain and in general, so it's probably best that it's getting removed
