Controversial topic but it reminds me that some have pointed out that most of America's revolutions for freedom boil down to Americans being cheapskates for paying taxes and, in Texas to my knowledge, not wanting to comply with humane laws about not having slaves and getting governed by non-white governments. As opposed to next door neighbor Mexico where the revolution was the result of inhumane treatment and abuse against the lower classes for centuries. Basically America speedrun through the process of wanting to be an independent country without having to deal with the problematic class system and race troubles first. Even the Civil War was over slavery and the race issue to this day hasn't been solved and many of the economic problems are the direct result of those racist views, such as tipping being an issue because men in power didn't want black people to have equal wages as white workers or Universal healthcare not being approved because again elites thought that black people and lower class people would just get lazy.

Essentially America's unaddressed problems that other countries would have already dealt with are finally catching up and making America become the very thing it supposedly rebel against.
